Description
Shadow render distance is set at to single relatively low distance, regardless of the quality option selected in settings. This is contrary to the shadow quality setting description, which states “control the resolution and render distance of shadows“. In reality the render distance is exactly the same at all settings, except for low where it is slightly higher.
Steps to Reproduce
In any world, with Vibrant Visuals enabled and with the render distance high enough to see the edge of where shadows stop rendering (or optionally load the demo world, as shown in screenshots).
Change the shadow quality setting in Video settings, and note if the distance has changed.
Observed Behavior
The shadows will render to the same distance regardless of setting (except for low, which renders slightly further).
Expected Behavior
Shadow render distance should increase according to the shadow quality setting. Higher settings should allow for a higher shadow render distance, as the setting description implies should happen.
