1/2 of double chests become invisible

When returning from the Nether, 1/2 of some double chests become invisible. They are still there and can be broken, but nothing can be put into the chest. I am playing on a friend’s realm and have no personal worlds, so haven’t tested it outside of the realm. This started occurring the last week or so. I do have a texture pact installed, so I deactivated it and the problem still occurred. I deleted the app from my iPad and reinstalled it and the problem still occurred. If I exit the game and get back on, the chests are then ok.
