Trapped Chest doesn't send redstone signal

Yeah I was creating a parkout map, and at one part, I wanted the Trapped Chest to send a redstone signal everytime it's used, but when I opened it, no redstone signal was sent. It only sends a signal when used with a redstone repeater. Please help, and also, some commands are having some issues, not functioning correctly when used in a command block.

A trapped chest sends a redstone signal depending on the amount of players currently looking into the chest. (1 player/1 block, 2 players/2 blocks, etc.)
It seems like you are in a singleplayer world, the trapped chest therefore only sends a 1 block redstone signal when you open it -> you have to use a repeater.
