Copies of Realms disappear after restarting Minecraft. Steps to reproduce:
Edit settings on the realm and click "Download World"
Download will complete successfully
Restart Minecraft and the save will not be there.
I AFKd all day after downloading the realm and discovered this. You can exit the copy and go back into it without restarting Minecraft without issue. I am not playing offline. Making changes to the properties of the save (like renaming) does not change the outcome.

I am still having this issue in 1.2.1

I am still having this issue in 1.2.1

I can download by Realm on the Win 10 version. It will not disappear from the saves list if I close and reopen the app. However, I cannot open it or modify the settings. It simply says syncing user settings and will not progress past that pop up. I am posting this here as they may be related, but will create a separate issue if that is the correct path. Please advise.

still an issue as of today

Confirmed issue for me too. I sincerely hope this literally game breaking bug is fixed, as a good handful of my world's require me to backup and reset whenever I play them.

I discovered a work around for this bug. Follow these instructions:
Download your Realms world to your Xbox One. This world will be named "<Your Realms Name> - Copy". Next go into the edit menu for this downloaded world and select Copy World. The copy will be named "Copy of <Your Realms Name> - Copy" and this world will still exist after quiting and restarting Minecraft.

in reply to the last comment, the point is we shouldn't have to go through all the hoops to get a simple thing to work, and while yes, that will work but, if you try to make any copies of that (copies of the copy of the downloaded realm), for redundancy, they will disappear in the same manner. its annoying because for a time i was keeping "checkpoints" if you will, copies of the realm at different stages, so i could re upload it should something really bad happen. but now the majority of the saved checkpoints are gone.

Yes, this is a horrible Priority 1 bug that should be fixed as soon as possible. I expect this bug is causing some players to rage quit Minecraft.
As I said in my comment above my instructions are a work around. The very small percentage of users who didn't completely lose a world they spent hours in and who are technical enough to find this bug can use the instructions.

This appears to be fixed in 1.2.3
