[MCPE-27909] Breaking banner causes crash

I recently put up banners in my Minecraft Realm. Whenever I try to take one down so I can copy it and make more, the banner breaks but no item appears, and then the game crashes. When I come back on, the banner is still in place. I've done this several times and the same thing happens.

Similar issue on our realm today. Went to break a banner in an end city, the banner broke off and the realm crashed. Upon relogging, same banner was back in place, tried breaking again, broke it and realm crashed again. Upon relogging a second time, I tried breaking a different end city banner with the same results as earlier. Gave up after that lol

I told my friend about this bug and he suggested breaking the block that the banner is sitting on/attached to. It worked in my world. I know it doesn't technically count as a fixed bug, but it's a suitable workaround in the meantime.

we are hitting this same issue in our realm. it's happening for multiple people, we tried to place a banner over a window as a curtain and it didn't attach properly and when we go to take it down the game/server crashes and kicks us out to the main menu.

tried it earlier today and placing or breaking a banner will crash the realm you are on

You can destroy banner use Piston. this doesn't crash your server

I can also confirm this bug affecting me. Breaking the block the banner is attached to won't crash the server, but breaking the banner itself will. Sometimes I get the banner when it crashes, but the banner no longer has its design.

Can confirm this bug affects my realm (oO Finch Oo's Realm) every time a banner is removed. Recreated by simply placing and removing a banner and it disconnects everyone logged in for approximately 120-180 seconds.

Yes, reproduced just after the build. Member of our realm broke a banner hanging from a tower in The End biome and we were all disconnected. Could not reconnect for approximately 2 minutes

Most recently when I tried this (yesterday) on iOS, my app crashed, the Realm became unavailable for about 2 minutes, and when I finally did reconnect the banner was back on the wall, PLUS I had a duplicate copy of the banner in my inventory, so the bug sometimes allows dup’ing of the banner. It was a patterned banner I was using in case that matters.

This just happened to me a minute ago. I was experiencing the glitch when banners revert to base colors, and, when I broke it so I could craft it into a pattern again, the game crashed. It occurred on 1.2.3 with iOS, so, yay. Can’t break banners.

People, if you break the block below the banner, it will drop itself without duplicating and closing the world
