So, i'm building illmango's endermen farm, and i built a walkway 3x200 away from the main end island. I covered the most part with single layer carpet and endermen are spawning there a lot. The last 25% of the walkway is double layer carpet and it looks like they can't spawn there.

carpets have the properties of the block under them, so if that block is spawnable, then so is the carpet. What ilmango does is make the carpets two layers thick. do that and it should be spawnproof. also, this farm is optimised for Java Edition. try looking for a Bedrock Edition farm.
Confirmed that carpets do not prevent mobs from spawning in 1.2.6.2 (beta). (This was a change made to Java in 1.8)

This should stop spawning but not teleporting, on PC a carpet layer currently stops spawns just not Enderman teleportation. Redstone should also stop spawning
