While this may not be a bug so much as an oversight, I see it a good idea to drop this as both a bug as well as feedback over at the feedback site. Whatever it’s seen as, at least it’ll be seen. Upon spawning the Ender dragon in at least the Overworld, the Ender Dragon flies to specific coordinates to do his attack that I see as unreasonable. For example, if the dragon is spawned 1000 blocks out on either the x or z axis, it will proceed to fly directly to the origin of the world to carry on with its actions. Rather than plan his actions according to hard coordinates, I see it more reasonable for map-makers who wish to design interesting encounters for his attacks to be relative to where he spawned. For example, his dragon-breath attack would be something along the lines of [x=, y=-50, z=~], rather than a hard value of [0,30,0] or whatever it may be. I’m also assuming this is how the fight is designed based on what I’ve seen of his movements. I could be completely inaccurate, but I see that his inability to be flexible in other dimensions could be considered a bug/oversight & it would be really helpful to look into it.
