Is this a bug or something intended? Ghasts are destroying my Cobblestone pathway in the nether that’s made of cobblestone slabs every time they attack me! Can someone please fix this?

Confirmed, it appears to be the blast resistance of stone slabs (all variants) that is too low. Cobblestone walls also have a blast resistance that is too low.
