Can't close elytra while gliding in creative mode

However, this issue has been closed as Working as Intended.

The elytra gliding can be disabled by double tapping jump in creative. Pressing jump once on touch controls should ideally cause the player to gain altitude when gliding with elytra in creative, as they do when using keyboard or controller.

So how do I turn this off? When I’m elytra gliding I don’t want to have to land just to get out of elytra fly mode.
