Moving stacks of item between inventory and chests

Normally when moving inventory items to/from chests, in order to move a stack I hold down on the stack until a green line moves across the stack. For example, if I want to move 64 cobblestone, hold down on stack until the green bar appears over the stack and keep holding it until the green bar completes and when I let go they all move over. When I do now, the green bar appears , but when I let go after the bar completes it only moves ONE item.
