When using touch controls to manipulate inventory in the Pocket UI, Green bar fills, but only 2 or 3 items get moved
Please note this only affects players using touch controls with the Pocket UI Profile, on any device. It has been fixed in the beta 1.2.13 and should be fixed in the next public release if no problem is found in the beta.
As a temporary workaround you may want to switch to the Classic UI Profile (go to Settings>Video>UI Profile>Classic).

Also true on LG tablet. Long pressing previously allowed moving full or partial stacks between inventory and containers (chests, furnaces, etc.) based on duration of press, now only a single item is moved per press without respect to duration. Green bar is still displayed over the stack being long pressed.
Confirmed that this occurs with the v1.2.9 update. Happens on various hardware/Android version combinations.
What happens is that if the long press is held until the green bar completes it movement, one item is transfered to the furnace or chest. Then, when the press is released, a second item is moved. If the long press is released prior to completing, only one item is moved due to the press release.
This bug is super fustrating, can we roll back the update to make the game playable? Here is a link to the bug in action. Thanks. - Jay
This problem is also happening with the Samsung Tab 4. I can no longer move a stack of items to or from my backpack. This feature worked perfectly prior to the last update.
I have the same problem, i have a phone xiaomi s3.
it's very frustrating 😞
Please limit comments to reporting new information. At this point we assume this problem applies to all some users of the Pocket UI.
As a workaround, you may want to switch to using the Classic UI until this is fixed.
Confirmed that this is affecting ONLY the Pocket UI on LG Q6 Android. Only happened with this newest release. Does Mojang need more beta testers prior to releasing these packages? This would seem to be something that should have been caught immediately by any dedicated Pocket UI tester.
Additional information:
If rapid pressing, the stack going into the chest from inventory actually reverses some items coming back to the inventory where it should be going to the chest. Tested on regular chests as well as shulker boxes. If holding down, the green bar completes but only moves a single item, upon release sometimes another item will move over. Using Classic UI where needed to avoid bug.
Not all Pocket UI. My LG G5 phone is just fine, but the Samsung tablet has the issue.
Good info, thank you!
Sorry Auldrick. Just noticed that my phone, without the issue, is v 1.2.8, which surprises me. So maybe all v 1.2.9?
I have an LG G5 too and it has the same issue.. odd.
iOS (iPhone 6S+); same issue.
Same issue. Can't bulk move items to chests, furnaces, shulker etc. iPhone SE iOS 10.3.1 MCPE 1.2.9
Same holding a stack of an item doesn't move it to the furnance, chest etc gotta press one by one MCPE 1.2.9.1
It's definitely 1.2.9 not 1.2.8 and applies to any 'press and move more than 1' situation (eg trading).

You may want to switch to using the Classic UI as a workaround for this issue.
Samsung note 5 same problem
Unlike OP, on my Android device exactly one item in the stack is moved after hold and release.
Having the same issue. Moving to chests/oven or throwing at people I can only do one at a time regardless of how long I hold and press the stack.
I am having a similar issue in Classic UI where my crafting table will only craft one item at a time.
@Blake Bread: Do you mean that you can craft a stack of items but only move them to your inventory one at a time? If so, I would say yes, it's the same issue. Otherwise, I recommend you create a new ticket to report that.
Having same issue on iOS and kindle fI e implementations
The green bar shows that I’m transferring and only throes one or teo
Having the same issue on Galaxy S5.
Having same issue on iPhone 7 iOS 11 since last update. Can’t move stacks in or out of chests. Superwikedbad
Not sure if reporting a few more in the vast multitude of version possibilities is new information. Bug present on;
Samsung Galaxy S8
Samsung Galaxy S7
Samsung Galaxy Tab E
iPhone 5 SE
Understand the workaround. Thanks for your efforts.
Doesn't work on Samsung Galaxy J3 Luna Pro. Don't know if this info will help.
This is so annoying. I’ve been working on something for months and this just makes me want to quit the game altogether.
Makes the game very difficult to play. My fingertips are bleeding.
Hopper is not automatically filling Chest. Also a stack moving problem for the Chest.
Items remain in the Hopper.
Bug also present on Samsung Galaxy Tab A
Thank you, everyone, for adding information! However, we really don't need additional reports of affected devices at this point, since it's obvious that it can affect any Android device. Feel free to add your vote, though (that really helps you) and watch the issue if you like.
I have this same problem on IOS 11.2.2, so it's not just Android. Thanks.
When is this going to be fixed and I play on an iPhone 5s so that one is affected too
No specific date can be given for a fix. Have you tried the workaround above?
Yes but I don’t like the smallness of the slots so then I would prefer pressing the screen 64 times
That would be a feature request then. You can suggest that at the feedback site. In the mean time, we don't know how long you might be able to continue enjoying this bug's effects. 🙂
I don’t enjoy it I hate it
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood what you meant.
It’s happening on my iPad Air as well
Ok, how do I move a partial stack when I am using the "Classic" setting?
"Classic" is just a different way of arranging the UI elements. As far as I know, the touch controls should still work the same way, so a long press should bring up the green bar and fill it gradually. I'm not sure if there's a way to pick up half the stack, equivalent to right-click on a keyboard or 2-finger tap on a touchpad.
Same way you would if it was pocket UI 🙂
It does the same thing on my samsung phone, but they ignored mine and 3 minutes later presumed it as resolve. It gets really annoying because i cant play on any of my survival maps because of it
@Elsie J: Your report wasn't ignored, it was marked as a duplicate of this one because this one was reported earlier and describes the same problem. Your report was marked "Resolved" to mean that we don't need to do anything more with that report, but the problem will still be worked on and eventually fixed using this report.
Please be patient. This issue is being worked on, but finding bugs is hard, and fixing them is often harder. Have you considered switching to the Classic UI, as suggested above? It might be a little unfamiliar, but at least you'd be able to play all your worlds.
I played around with the bug a little today. If I set touch interface sensitivity to 0, one item transfers when hold until the green bar fills up and release. When I set that sensitivity slider to 100, one item transfers when the green bar fills, and a second item transfers when I release my finger. This is when attempting to move a stack from inventory to a chest.
Probably not helpful observations, but who knows. Latest iOS on an iPhone 7.
Android LG tablet. Setting the touch sensitivity to 0 triggers an item move on the initial long-press as well as a second item on release.
I have the same Problem and I Hope you fix it soon
I Have the same problem on my iphone. Just switched to the original UI
I have a similar issue with bulk items not moving over.
I'm running this on an iPad. iOS 10.3.2
Please upvote this issue (see above) if it affects you, rather than adding yet another "me too" comment naming your device type.
Votes, not comments, are how we track which issues are affecting the most people.
Commenting with an additional platform (Android, iOS, Xbox, Windows 10, etc.) can be helpful on a newer ticket, but once it's established which platforms a bug affects, listing more devices just creates clutter and confusion. So please, do not add more "I have the same problem on my xxxxxx" comments.
If a person is annoyed at the bug and searches out this website as a place to raise the flag, you are delusional if you think they are going to read 40 comments and then just "upvote" when the details show that the bug affects, "Phone - Android - Google Pixel" and they are running iOS. Don't blame the victims, who are only trying to help. Clearly "upvotes" are not a sufficient metric for severity--if you've flagged dozens of duplicate issue links, maybe that's an indication that us rubes are not satisfied... even if we don't strictly adhere to your coder fantasy notion of how complaints and bug reports should be submitted. I don't intend to be a jerk, and I know you must receive a lot of bug reports, but it seems counterproductive to expend effort telling people to shut up and/or complain through the preferred channels.
I'm sorry. I regret what I just wrote. I know you doing your best, and it's crazy for me to complain given what I paid for the app. I'm sorry. I know you'll fix the bug when you can. Forgive.
I had the problem before updating to mcpe 1.2.9.1, but before this last update I could (most times) move stacks IF I managed to keep my finger completely still while the green bar filled up. If I moved my finger ever so slightly, I ended up moving only one single item. I noticed that the problem only happend when the inventory cells/slots was moved up or down (like when you scroll a window up/down), so that was what I tried to avoid by keeping my finger absolutely still.
Now, after the last update, it seems impossible to press anything without scrolling the inventory slots a bit up or down at the same time. Maybe the press&hold function should stop the inventory slots from moving up/down at the same time?
This idea of holding finger perfectly still is why I tried (unsuccessfully) changing the sensitivity. I have a stylus at home that works on touch screens. After work, I'll try setting it up in a way where it's resting on a stack and absolutely still. Will post with results if successful.
Having same issue on Android OS version 6.0.1 Samsung Galaxy S5 running PE 1.2.9.
Same issue Galaxy tab A. PE 1.2.9.
Happens to me too they need to fix this now
Also affect iPads running iOS 11.2.5, Minecraft version 1.2.9. Confirmed on iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, and iPad 5.
Transfering a full inventory of cobblestone to a chest is enough to give you bruises.
Same issue Android Minecraft version 1.2.9

Has anyone else been using the Classic UI workaround? It works on iOS, and it appears to work for others. Sure, I will be just as happy when I can go back to using the normal MCPE UI, but Classic is better than nothing.
Anything?
Now I prefer to use the Classic UI. 🙂 Thank you bug! 😉
(To Guy Hardy) - Yes, I have been using the Classic Workaround, however, the only issue now is that it is virtually impossible for me to pick up and move ONLY a single item. If anyone knows how to do this, that would be great. Otherwise, my only issue with that interface is that the bottom is so cluttered (hearts / food status) is that it is impossible to see the bottom of the maps when opened from the hot bar (not held in alternate hand). Hope they remedy this bug soon. Better would be a bit of a tweak on both interfaces to give us something that is the best of both interfaces.
Pick up a stack of items, swipe across several empty slots. It will distrubute the items evenly in the slots.
I am using the Classic UI for moving bulk items, and one advantage to the Classic UI is that you can place items in any slot you choose instead of only the first open one. This is much better for keeping Chests organized.
But, the pocket UI has much better implementation for moving single items- just a tap moves one item. I also prefer the layout of the screen in Pocket UI. One more advantage to Pocket UI is that when you are Enchanting, the results, or at least part of them are shown under the 3 levels available. This gives the player the opportunity to try different items and sort of “shop” for the most desired Enchantment.
I find myself switching back and forth between the two UIs right now based on what I need, but miss the functionality of the Pocket UI and still wish it worked properly. I would still use it more often.
this is the problem that is affecting me will playing minecraft on ui
Using the Classic UI is a workaround for some functionality lost due to this issue, but I am at a loss as to how one goes about grabbing 1 off the stack and moving it around as others have stated. I can't pick up a stack of 64 cobblestone and swipe it across empty slots until I get to a single item. Is this being prioritized for the next release? My kids are refusing to play until this is resolved... need them distracted 🙂
To jay Morris hold down your finger and you will pick up only a few items
Gonna be an obnoxious volunteer "thread policer" here and request that anyone who receives email notifications about this bug and who had not yet used the "Vote for this issue" link, PLEASE do so. It's obvious to anyone who prefers the touch UI that this bug must be fixed. But the developers prioritize their precious time based on votes, not passion.
Would also be good if anyone here who is capable (original bug reporter, Mojang rep, …?) would please edit the bug description to say (1) it applies to all hardware and (2) "Vote for this issue" is the most helpful thing you can do if you have this problem.
This is currently the most-voted unresolved issue in the Bedrock bug tracker, and the issue definitely has the developers' attention. More upvotes can't hurt, though.
Note that crashes that corrupt worlds or prevent gameplay, even in degraded mode, are automatically treated as high priority as well, so this isn't necessarily the top priority for a fix, but I do believe there is pressure to have one soon.
When will this bug be fixed, I have gotten ANNOYED by the best game ever!
Yeah me too, same problem.
Same problem on my iPhone 6
Same problem on my Moto G3 (Android)
Here’s some hard info. I tried the workaround suggestion to switch to the classic UI. Result? Zero items get moved. Wouldn’t it be better for Mojang to fix the problem?
Please do not comment things such as "please fix this" as it does not accelerate the process. Instead, please use the up vote button to give this ticket more attention and help put it at the top of the list.
Installed V1.2.10 today and the issue still exists.
Please do not add more "me too" comments, as they don't add helpful information. We want to know that you're also affected, but that's what the "Vote for this issue" link is for, so please use that instead.
Take heart, everybody! A fix for this issue actually exists! It was slated for the 1.2.10 release, but unfortunately stability issues were found in testing that forced it (along with many other fixes that the beta had introduced) to be held back. It's almost certain to be included in the next release, and the next beta release if there is one. (But remember, betas are expected to contain lots of new bugs, some of them serious, so always use copies for testing betas.)
I am using the 1.2.10 now, I feel that some times, when I click faster over an item getting It from a chest, sometimes It goes back to the chest, maybe It could be problem related that issue. When they try to fix It.
Just tried the workaround and it worked fine. Holding the stack down until the green line fills up, then the number of items in the stack changes color to gold, then tap where you want the inventory to go works just fine. So I have changed my default to the classic UI until this is resolved. I do like the normal UI better, but cannot live with this no inventory transfer bug. Thanks for working on the MOJANG.
when you are in sky wars or PvP game it is not good enouth, its is faster for colect, but not fast for use, etc.. Break the chests in earlyer version cause drop itebs but in 1.2.9 dont so its a problem too
I also have the same problem. Not only can I not get or put bulk items into chests, but furnaces too. I have to use hoppers for everything... hope this helped.
As of Update v.1.2.10 on iOS this is still not working.
Yeah please fix this soon it’s hard to enjoy the game with the chest all screwy when I load stuff it only lets me load one item at a time very annoying! Fix ASAP thanks again for a great game!
Classic UI works but the size of buttons/icons are too small. This bug needs be fixed asap, please guys vote for this to get higher priority.
iOS reporting in, same issue here for the past 2 versions.
iOS 1.2.10 same issue part 2 versions as well.
This issue has been fixed in beta 1.2.13 and should be fixed in the next public release if no problem is found in the beta. If you experience it in the beta, please add the version to the Affected Versions list (above) if it's not there and leave a comment if you have anything new to add. Otherwise, feel free to upvote the issue, but please don't leave comments just to say "me too" or add your device.
my version is 1.2.10. how can I update, or force an update to new beta version 1.2.13? I am using Android. Thank you.
Yay it’s fixed
Im 1.14.60 on Amazon Kindle Fire and I have this bug
Also applies to transfers into furnaces...one at a time only, both for input and fuel...strangely though the output is removed all at once...Device is Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus tablet but I suspect all android users are scuppered?
