On my brothers world when we play then turn off the xbox the player data would reset for me, (player two). It would be just like starting over again, an empty map and respawning at the world spawn point. Then on my own world, my girlfriends player data reset just like mine did on my brothers world. So player 1s data is not reseting but got some reason player 2s is.

Same problem for me. XBox One, happened both with 1st and 2nd part of update aquatic. We are playing under my profile, which always works fine. But every time we play, it is random whether my wife and 2 kids will be able to continue with the previous save or if they get reset to original spawn point with nothing in their inventory. Nex time we play, it sometimes is reset yet again, sometimes on the save from the previous time we were playing, and sometimes will even bring up the original save created. If it randomly loads them with the "original" save, they obviously lose any progress they worked on the previous time playing.
This happened last night to my wife's and son's profiles, but my daughter's profile was fine. This happens both when the XBox is online and offline. Last night I tried repeatedly and can't get the old saves to come back, including doing a system reset, deleting the locally saved data to allow it to re download the online save. The area we are working on collectively is quite a ways from the original spawn point, so a huge waste of time to get back to our village every time it screws up.
