This has happened to me twice now. If I am killed in survival mode, any enchanted items I was carrying disappear. All other items drop as usual and can be picked back up, but anything with an enchantment is gone. And no, they do not have the curse of vanishing or whatever. I'm going to give up enchanting things. What is the point of fishing for hours to get mending on a sword that will just disappear the first time I die?

Could not reproduce in Windows 10 version 1.2.13.60. I had a full set of enchanted armor, enchanted weapons, and enchanted tools as well as unenchanted tools and other items. I tried dying from falling, drowning, and being killed by an enderman, a husk and a cactus. I tried it with the Experimental Gameplat toggle off and on. All my enchanted items came back to me each time.
Is it possible that your world has any command blocks active? It would be easy to use command blocks to make dropped enchanted items vanish or otherwise become irretrievable. Is there perhaps something else about your world that's different from the usual creative building world or survival achievements/exploration world?
