Tridents and arrows when thrown into a block change positions as you exit and enter the world again

A simpler way to do this is to throw a trident into a block with two pistons on a clock moving said block back and fourth. Slowly the Trident will rotate to what I think is the North direction. 

I’m sure this would also work with arrows.
