When you use bonemeal on grass it’s uses more than one bonemeal. For example if you use the bonemeal once it will use up three of your bonemeal and waste it.

I noticed this while bonemealing the bottom of the river next to my base. I click once and it uses two, three bone meal instead of just the one. Real waste of bone meal. Especially now that farming bones is damn near impossible with the broken spawners in converted worlds and spawning in general completely screwed up.
