Dolphins are not tamable and they can not be tied with a lead

Currently, there are no official plans to allow dolphins to be tamed or led, so you are requesting a feature or making a suggestion. This site is for bug reports only.

That is intended, dolphins cannot be tamed, they only lead you to the nearest ruins, shipwreck or buried treasure. Also, I don't think leads can be attached to them.
