There was a problem loading this world

Yesterday my son purchased Minecraft PE for Android. It is installed on a tablet on which multiple Android users are active.
When we are trying to create an new world we choose "Play" --> "Create New" --> "Create New World" --> change some game settings and give the world a name --> "Create"

After that a message is given "There was a problem loading this world.
If we then later try to open this world we get the same error message.

Android version 6.0.1
Minecraft P.E. version 1.4.4

Have you tried changing the file save location to External?

From the main start screen, choose: Settings→Profile→File Storage Location→External

Please report back to confirm if this works, this ticket will automatically reopen when you reply.

We tried that, but the setting changes back to "Application" directly after I change it to "External".

So this does not solve the issue.

Yesterday I got a mail that something changed on the issue, but when I look I don't see any update.

Is there an update on this issue?

We're still having trouble trying to reproduce the issue.

Have you tried a full reinstall of the game? It may be worth a try if you wanted to.

Backup any data you don't want to lose, then try the following:

  1. Backup your MinecraftWorlds folder (if you want to save your worlds) (Device storage > games > com.mojang > minecraftWorlds)

  2. Uninstall Minecraft

  3. Delete the com.mojang folder (Device storage > games > com.mojang)

  4. Reinstall Minecraft

  5. Run Minecraft and if it works restore your MinecraftWorlds folder

Sometimes a clean install of the game will help with these kind of issues.

Thank you for your help. We got it working. After re-installing the app, we got a message to give it access to storage. After we giving the access the app works. Now we can swithc to External as well.

You made the day for my son.

this issue can be closed.

Really pleased you were able to get it working. Closing ticket.

Re-installing the app is NOT a solution to this problem as you lose all your worlds. I cannot keep backing them up and restoring them every time this happens. I am not always at home when this happens.

I have the same problem where can I get help?

Hi. A friend of mine's child is having the same problem on her son's Kindle Fire 7. Is there any solution to this as I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft, did some updates and was working for a bit but then the problem showed up again?
