This issue has been present since the release of 1.4; everytime I start flying in Creative mode, after 5-10 seconds I suddenly start walking at normal speed, as opposed that I'm walking on the surface.
In this situation, after multiple stops, you suddenly hear step sounds as you move while flying. The item on your hand also pushes back while moving, and returns to its normal position after stopping. The only solutions to this are to
fly up or down, via the Shift key or Spacebar, or
return to the surface completely and try flying again.
This problem is affecting all other devices as well, and because of this, it needs to get fixed.

I'm having a similar issue with mine. I'm on my Samsung J3 Emerge (Android device). Since it is my old phone (it was last year's release), I have deleted everything off of it and only have Minecraft installed on it. There is no actual phone service, although it does connect through WIFI to my online account for all the updates. Ever since the new Aquatic release came out, my game has been off. When I try to fly, I move slower than I would if I walked. If I double tap to make it go faster, it goes even slower. If I get closer to the ground, I move like I am flying. Problem is that I sometimes need to be at a higher elevation to see what's around me when building. It takes me twice as long to do anything when in flight. Yesterday, I started to notice that the game is glitching and my character's movements and all movements in the game are constantly stopping and starting. Thought it was the disorganization in my world so I created a new one with nothing in it and I'm having the same issues. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to not be able to play my game and finish the city I started!
