NOTE: THE VERSION SPECIFIED IN Affects Version/s MAY NOT BE ACCURATE, AS I AM NOT 100% SURE OF THE VERSION NUMBER, BUT IT IS THE LATEST VERSION AS OF 23/06/2018 AND I HAVE PROVIDED BUILD NUMBER AND DATE
When attempting to give the player a written book via the /give command, it will fail saying no such item exists.
This is very annoying for map makers.
I'm using Windows 10 edition of Minecraft
build: 937076
branch: 4
build date: "2018-05-20
(I dont really know what the version name is so i just gave the build date and number)
Error on executing command:

Ignore my previous comment. I tested it myself.
Instead, can you provide the exact command you used to obtain the book ? I tried using the /give command but there was no suggestion for 'written_book'. It could be that it is not yet available via command.
i just used /give XxXJGxXxJoelxXx written_book
And of course the id wont work, because number id's were removed from the give command ages ago.
This exact command will work in a java edition though.
Naturally this makes vanilla servers and map makers have hard times sometimes if trying to give every new user a written_book with rules or etc.
Or like me who happens to be making a paint program that you click the pixels in the book and they turn black. Naturally, theres no way for me to get the book because I can not give it to myself with those NBT tags that store the page data and click events
Block id are still in commands. Try using it to obtain blocks, you still need to input the id for some blocks. Just because its not yet implemented does not mean it is a bug. Even if all block id are removed there would still be a name or item suggestion in the chat when you type certain letters. For example, if you type "s" , there would be a suggestion for stone, stick, slab etc. The absence of 'written_book' in the suggestions means it may not be available via commands.
Not all features in java are in bedrock yet.
This one is, as you can find the Book and Quill in the creative menu and even craft them, put content in them and sign them turning them into written_books(s), but you cant put NBT tags inside the game without commands or mods of course which is a pretty big problem if I want to embed ClickEvents and such inside it
And also trying to type in the id for written_book as shown in the World Editor program screenshot wont work either, even though i had already given myself a writable_book and then signed it and turned it into a written_book
As this is a pretty major item for servers and map makers in which you can easily tell the player information without having a text limit as you do with signs and nametags it doesnt really make alot of sense that it is not implemented into the commands. And anyways, knowing how minecraft works if you mod it and you add your own custom item, doesnt it automatically allow you obtain the item through commands anyway? Like there wasnt a good reason to be able to give yourselves a "portal" or "nether_portal" block was there? After all, they dont even function correctly if you update them after placing them, they disappear.
That's not how it works. Just because it is in java does not mean it is already in bedrock.
Like I said: it might not be available via commands. All items are given a name suggestion when typing their names if they are available. The absence of the written_book name in the suggestion means that that item is not obtainable via commands.
P.S. I never asked for the id of the written_book.
