non of the /locate commands work (mainly the /locate temple takes your to witch hut) and not a sand temple

Correct. In the new update, the ability to /locate only the desert temple and other entities is expected to be released. For now, /locate temple includes desert temple, jungle temple, witch hut, and igloo.

Temples are not limited to jungle and desert temples. This can include the witch hut although it is not called a temple.
