I can be travelling anywhere, moving or not, on a horse or minecart (which the crash makes you lose when you reload the game) and no matter what, it crashes. Thought it was a chunk issue as it did seem to happen in the same place but now it's happening all over the place!
UPDATE:
Can now confirm it's an update to chunks that seems to do it. Playing on a Samsung galaxy Tab S2 9.7, the same thing happens. Although this one was in creative mode and we were flying about the place and when the chunks start to generate it closes the app down completely.
UPDATE 2:
I was curious with the render distance so started to alter it in the settings menu. When I turned it down to 10 chunks, the game crashed the same way as in the first instances.

Having a lot of crashes on Win 10 because of this,
with map and without map. Most often when exploring on sea (makes you loose your boat) but also easily reproduced when just travelling on a long railroad.
Thank you for your report!
Crashes such as these are logged automatically, and will be looked into further by the development team.

Are you using a map in your off-hand? Try moving it to the inventory bar and see if that resolves the problem. I was experiencing the same crashes but doing this seems to have fixed it, at least for now.
