fish wont spawn naturally

there are no fish spawning in my world. there are dolphins, squid and drowns but there are no fish. there use to be fish but now when u swim around on the whole map you cannot find any.

I do have several mods installed on my realm but even if I remove them no fish will spawn.

if I create a new world there are fish but not on my realm and not on the copy even with all the mods off.

It may be caused by the mod. As you said, they spawn in new world without the mod. The mod you used may have affected the fish spawn but I can't say for sure.

at one time there were no dolphins, squid, drowns or fish and I took all the mods out and reapplied them and now I have everything except fish. even with all the mods off I cannot get the fish to come back. and on a new world with all the mods on I still get fish spawning but not on the realm.

???

Are you able to provide a copy of the realm save?

Alternatively, if you have cheats enabled, you might want to make sure the mobspawning gamerule is enabled by running the command /gamerule doMobSpawning true

cheats are enabled but that gamerule should be set to true.

I can provide a copy of the realm no problem

thanks megaspud for looking into it

well the file is too big where can I send it?

Spawning and despawning is broken on MCPE edition. Probably you have reached the mob cap, and thus get no fish spawning anymore.

As soon as you explore your world, all the mobs you encounter, most of them won't despawn. So it might be you have tons of fish like 6000 blocks away from where you're looking, and those are holding up the spawns because of the cap.

I have witnissed a lot of very strange spawning behaviour in MCPE. Also entire villagers with villagers you have traded with, can suddenly completely dissapear without a trace (the mobs), while they are in an unattackable unescapable enclosure.

I hope Mojang fixes spawning fast, as it is totally broken the way it currently is.

See below picture. That map covers about 10k blocks from top to bottom. As you can see, all the mobs are there and stay there. This is also the reaso why I get zero spawns in my slime farm, even though I cleared out an area of 18 chuncks radius around it, both above as below grond. Simply because of all those other mobs filling the cap and not despawning.

how did u get this map with all the mobs identified? UME?
I swam in the whole ocean on my 4/4 and cant find a single fish (that I haven't used a spawn egg to get) one day I saw a school of about 5 fish but they have all disappeared. sometimes one of my players tamed horses will disappear too even tho it should not being a persistent mob

even going to other ocean areas, like h zikken mentioned... I find no fish
