When starting Minecraft it has a yellow bar on the right in the place of the navigation bar. This occurs on Huawei Honor 8

Have you set the app to display in fullscreen?
Go to your phone's settings: Settings>Display>App Display in FullScreen>Minecraft>Fullscreen Mode
Does adjusting that setting help at all?
