Huge lighting issues

There are lighting issues in my world. I will upload some screenshots soon, but basically theres a screen of shadow like it's unlit, and a screen of light. From the inside of the dark area you can see the light but it makes no difference to the light level.

For example, I have a stable I keep my donkey in, and from the outside, it looks like it's completely dark inside. It's 4 blocks long, 2 blocks wide, and 4 blocks high, with a roof and a double fence gate. There are 3 blocks of air, plus 2 transparent blocks. I also saw the same thing under an overhang nearby. Also, this seems unaffected by reloading the world.

I found reports of this from a few years ago but on Java. I tried causing a block update as one of them said resolved the issue but nothing happened.

I found this did not happen when placing torches, like the other reports suggested it did, I just loaded in and it was like this.
