Corrupted textures of items and blocks - black shadows

Without apparent reason the textures of items and blocks are converted into black blocks.

Begins with items and finally make the world unplayable because all blocks are black, ,even torches and all blocks of light :'(.

My phone is a GoMobile 504.

To users searching for this bug

There are currently two unrelated bugs having similar symptoms of dark shadows:

  • MCPE-39439 describes a bug that causes unusually dark but still gradual shadows. It can be worked around by momentarily placing a torch or other light source in the shadowed area, or by any action that would cause a lighting update such as breaking blocks above the shadow to expose it to the sky light.

  • This bug causes fully black shadows with sharp edges, even right next to a light source. Placing a torch does not correct this problem.

It's true. Effects to me too. My tablet is Lenovo tab 2 a7-30hc Android 5.0.1 GPU is Mali-400 MP

It begins slowly with shadows. Like shadows of trees. Then the blocks and then all the game worlds turn black (it means this effects all worlds) but I didn't re reach to item part 😃

Does this issue only happen after resuming the game?

Windows 10, 1.9.0.3 has a similar bug

I have seen the Win10 smooth lighting bug, but I'm not sure it's the same thing. This report seems to say that the darkness spreads farther over time, which I haven't seen in Win10 using 1.9.0.3. The Win10 bug is also easily correctable by placing a torch or other light source in or near the dark area.

For those experiencing this bug, does placing a light source in the dark area make the lighting look normal again, even after you then remove the light source?

I was able to get three LG Android phones with this issue, their specs are:

G6, purchased in 2017, running Android 8.0 Oreo, using a Quad-core Qualcomm (MSM8996) Snapdragon 821, with an Adreno 530 GPU

K10, purchased in 2016, running Android 7.0 Nougat, using a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210, with an Adreno 306 GPU

V20, also purchased in 2016, running Android 8.0, Oreo, using a Quad-core Qualcomm (MSM8996) Snapdragon 820, with the same GPU as the G6 I tested

All tested with 1.9.0.3 and 1.9.0.5

Verizon Wireless Ellipsis8 tablet also affected
