I recently just made a nether wart farm using dispensers and water to harvest and random source blocks are being created on the edge of blocks as it goes down to the next level. The farm is set up in a staircase format and sponges seem to not be able to get rid of some of the created source blocks.

However, this issue has been closed as a Duplicate of MCPE-35444.
Water that flows downwards is able to turn into a bubble column, which creates a water source block. This behaviour is currently working as intended, but if you have feedback or would like to make a suggestion, please visit the Minecraft Feedback Site.
