Whenever I try to use the Birch Pressure Plate in my house, it clicks and animated as if it's working normally, but it doesn't output a Redstone signal to open the matching door

Is the pressure plate on the block next to the door? Does this happen in all worlds, and have you tried replacing the pressure plate?

Upon further testing after mining Redstone, it outputs zero Redstone signal, almost as if it's more of building material than a Redstone one...
