When I open my world, I sometimes find myself at the respawn screen. I don’t know if this is the same as the “spawn in the sky” glitch because I don’t see my character falling.
Normally after dying, the screen goes red and tilts sideways, slowing down as it gets more parallel to the ground. However, I open the world to the screen being almost completely on its side. This leads me to wonder how long I’ve been dead in game... it’s like the game has been running in the background and I got killed by a mob.
This bug is really irritating because not only is a hefty portion of my xp undeservingly taken, but also my items are strewn about way farther away than usual.

Also experienced this after the panda and cats update. It seemed like I had died multiple times as the death screen was not where I had “save and quit.” I noticed that after saving and quitting the dialogue box says it is “Generating World” and “Loading Resources,” similar to when I select the world I want to play.

On the Nintendo switch, it is not uncommon to see “generating world” while saving. I get that all the time

To me it appears this issue is the same as MCCE-8490. They occur under similar circumstances and always seem to have the same result (see my posted comment in that thread for a screenshot).

This bug might look like a instant death on some platforms, you can see the cause of death in the chat-log.

Same issue but items are gone. It appears that I spawn before my surroundings do an I fall and die, and then bricks are spawned. I never find my items.
