[MCPE-40377] When playing on local 2 player, player 2 can not see under water but player 1 can, despite having the aquatic update.

I am playing on split screen with one other person. I am player 2. Player 1 can look into the water or be submerged in the water and see everything. Player 2 cannot see anything in the water, it is very foggy, like the old version of minecraft looked like. Neither player has enchanted armour and the aquatic version of the game is all up to date. Why can't I see in the water?
