Overworld portal (C) releases me into the Nether where overworld portal (A) releases. Returning through the portal releases me at overworld portal (A). As a reference I have a portal (B) that functions properly.

bring a map with you to the nether, go in overworld a
using the map, travel to where overworld c is and make a new portal in the nether.
you should come out at overworld c
i had to do the same thing in my game.
