Nether portal duplication

This is fairly difficult to explain but, I decided to create a Nether portal but realised that it was not a good location it sent me to. So I deconstructed it and set up another one a hundred blocks or so away. When I got into the Nether, I realised it was the same spawn point as last time. I went back into the over world only to notice I ended up in the place I put my first portal even though I deconstructed it and placed a new one somewhere else. This gave me duplicate portals and if destroyed, duplicate obsidian.

I am pretty sure that is just how the nether works, if you break your portal inside the nether then die it will likely make a new Portal

I have this same problem and now I cant farm obsidian from nether portals

it is not suposed to work like that

I've looked into it more recently but, I'm still not 100% sure if it is how the nether works or weather or it is a bug. Back when I first reported this bug, I though it was a big but now I'm not sure. If anyone can clarify this, that would be great

Thank you for your report!
