Ticking areas as created by entities containing the {color:#505F79}minecraft:tick_world{color}
component in behaviour packs cannot be deleted by any means.
Removing the entities and then using {color:#505F79}/tickingarea remove_all{color}
or {color:#505F79}/tickingarea remove x y z{color}
will not remove the ticking areas. The only current option is to make a new world entirely and copy everything over.

It should be noted that this was with a larger number of entities with the tick_world component. The tick_world component was subsequently removed from these entities, however, the ticking areas remained despite the removal of the component as well as entity deaths.

why is it 3 yrs later we still have no way to remove those areas do you people not know how to use your brains? Common sense is if you're going to introduce a new component such as this you create a way to remove the tickingareas that doesn't require making a whole new world. You guys need to use your brains for once.
