Armor Bar Slots Dissaperaing

Basically, with this bug, when your armor breaks (which leads to having NO armor), you would think armor bars would simply disappear. But when messing around, I got a bug to happen where I would put on a diamond chestplate that's about to break, Break it, and I would still have my armor bars, just empty. I'm not keeping the protection from it after it breaking, but the empty armor bar does stay untill I open my chat, inventory or pause menu. Event when I attack!
