Stuck on "Building Terrain" on Realm after chunk errors

So I've been playing on a Realm my friend made for about a week now, and just tonight, while I was playing with three other members of the server, we all began experiencing chunk loading errors in the same spots. About five minutes after that, since the chunks were not loading in, I left the game and tried to rejoin. Now, however, I have been unable to rejoin the Realm, and I am getting stuck on the "Building Terrain" screen. My friends have not had this issue, and they say that when I try to join, my avatar appears, but I am frozen in place. Trying to approach me causes them to be "teleported away" as they put it.
