At Y Coordinate 76 - 77 the beacon beam disappears on a flat world. I didn't test this in infinite worlds.

This is a duplicate of MCPE-17595.
And yes: it works as intended.
Which means for me: the programmers didn't care that a beacon is to be visible from far away (like in Java and in the reality). In other words: deliberately sloppy programming.
