Can't eat food or drink stuff from addons in multiplayer

The new update is amazing! it really helps addon creators in making stuff for the community, the ability to add custom items, mobs, and custom crafting recipes gives the community the ability to do stuff addons never could in the past! Everything works fine, except for when it's in LAN or XBL. When me and my bro were trying out the Potion Of Youth addon, My bro could drink the potion bc it was his world, I had joined in, I tried to use the item after crafting it. But it never allowed me to consume it, Even weirder, on my bro's screen, it showed the animation for drinking/eating, but that was it. Nothing happened. It seems to happen with all the addons we tried, coming to the conclusion that it was an actual bug within the game itself, not the addons we downloaded. Here is a gif showing the glitch in action
