using silk touch on a mushroom wields the wrong block

Whenever i use a silk touch enchanted tool of any kind on a mushroom block it gives me a block that looks like the inside part of the mushroom and nothing else...none of the spots on the outside...the stalk however does look normal when mined with silk touch. Mushrooms are my favorite so i hope this can be fixed in the future.
