Minecraft crashes on the Nintendo switch and i loose an hours worth of progress

After awhile of playing my game would crash, usually faster when I do split screen. After a crash it a couple of things happen. First it started as my moving minecart hoppers would disappear with the items inside. Now it has only gotten worse, the game would auto save regularly and then when it crashes it would not send me back to my last auto save, but set me back hours. This is quite frustrating. This has happened three times to me so far. The third time I was AFK and the second and first I was split screen with others
