i thought I was going mad! I saw one too very briefly. it looked like a chicken or maybe rabbit. I didn't have either in my inventory just so you know

Looking at your screenshot, I can see that you're in a taiga biome. The item is probably being held by a fox, the only mob that spawns holding raw chicken. The issue is currently being tracked in MCPE-51993.

This just happened to me on a flat world. When I would look at a certain spot a giant rabbit skin thing would show up without me holding anything
