Game closes / exits to home screen without a crash prompt when XBL is logged in and no WiFi or LTE cell service is available

Game closes / exits to home screen after being frozen for 5 seconds without a crash prompt about 5-10 seconds in after opening when XBL is logged in and no WiFi or no LTE cell service is available. Opening game while on WiFi (thru a hotspot) and going to settings then logging out of XBL. Then game works without WiFi or LTE cell service but then no store content be available while offline.
