Minecraft on the switch is fundamentally unstable. I have written code in games for over 25 years (engine code). This product is not fit for release. It crashes pretty much every single day.
Today, 15Oct2019 I am unable to load the main survival world used by my 8 year old son. I have tried 7 times. I also have a copy of the world. Neither file loads. I see "the software was closed because an error occurred"
I am, however, able to load Skyblock levels.
So the game itself loads and runs, but it takes a full 5 minutes to load the game. I see a black screen for about 3.5 minutes. Then it takes at least a minute and a half to load the Microsoft name and load up the skin. Why do we wait for that? Because we learned by painful experiment than when my sons account is fully loaded the number of crashes on load are fewer.
As I said, today it will not load At all.
So, when, please, will you actually stabalise your 10 year old codebase? It should be as solid as a rock by now. Bugs like this are totally unacceptable. My son has about 12 games on the switch. Minecraft is the only game which crashes. Nothing else has crashed on the switch. Nothing. With all due respect, as a game coder, I would be embarrassed to release such a low quality version.
A secondary issue is performance. In split screen in skyblock - where the world is empty (pretty much) we experience very slow frame rates. Why? There is nothing there. This has to be a bug.
Please respond to me regarding what will be done about this fantastic game, which is not properly tested on the switch. When will you release a stable version?
Is there any way I can force the game to load the level my son has literally been playing for months?
Kind regards,
Arnold

Started having this exact same issue just last week. Talked to someone on Nintendo support and they said it's more than likely an issue with the software, as it's the only game on my Switch that's getting the error. I hope Mojang takes notice of this soon, I want to get back to playing my game.
