My Brother wanted to join my game (were both on the same network) The tab would even show (as usual) that a friend is playing at the top. But when he switched to the tab. The tab would say that none of his friends are playing minecraft even though it says the oposite at the top. Before the update he could easily join me without having Xbox live gold because were on the same network.
Yes we have befriendet each other on Xbox Live and Yes the game is visible to lan players.
Hope thats enough info.

Xbox trying to connect to Win 10 edition. Tab shows 1 friend online but no joinable friends.
Checked windows firewall, antivirus etc... worked on 1.12.x

I have the same issue on Xbox. My boyfriend and I played via LAN for the past year or so and now we can not connect since the 1.13 update. It shows that we have a friend playing in the tab but the content box says that none of your friends are playing now.

I believe this issue persists and is a cross-play issue between Switch and Kindle Fire OS. I will try to add bug replication steps so this ticket can be reopened.
Setup:
Playing on Nintendo Switch. Other device is Kindle Fire OS.
Both accounts using XBOX Live Login. Both confirmed as logged in both on device and logged in to online account.
1. Switch User Launches Minecraft. (1.16.201)
2. Switch User verify connected to XBOX Live
3. Switch User Load/create a multiplayer world on Nintendo Switch
4. Fire OS user launches minecraft (1.16.201).
5. Fire OS user Selects Play, then Select Friends Tab. No user games appear.
Important Notes:
1. If the Fire OS user creates the game, the Nintendo user can join.
2. This setup worked on earlier 1.16 builds. I believe it broke around the 1.16.100 or .200 updates.
