Since updating to version 1.13.0 for Windows 10 on PC my existing villages that me and my partner have traded with for months have ceased working correctly. Now they breed until they have 2 more villagers than there are beds. If I add 2 new beds they breed 2 more villagers within 1 in game day. Plus the villagers have been changing professions and master level villagers have 'disappeared'. There are new brown shirt villagers (no profession) even though there are workstations available. Not all master level villagers have disappeared but several of them have. Librarians have changed the books that they are offering even though they have been traded with enough to move them up to level 2 of 3's before the update. Now one of them instead of offering Smite V books offers book cases. This has really frustrated us and pissed us off at the same time. Please fix this so the villages are stable again and keep professions properly after being traded with. Obviously we can't get back the villagers the way that they were but if the villages just stabilize so that they have no more villagers than there are beds and they keep their professions after being traded with we can deal with it.

It is normal for villagers to over breed slightly, because several pairs can try to breed at the same time when there is an available bed. However, since you say that they consistently over breed by 2, I wonder if you and your partner that you mentioned have beds nearby that are being counted by the village?
In any case, the issues you describe with master villagers disappearing and librarians seemingly changing their trades are explained as cases of MCPE-21416. And if villagers disappear from a village, the village will not confirm they are gone and release their workstation for 20 minutes, unless you break it.
Our base is more than 80 blocks from the nearest village and the other 3 villages we trade with are even further away so I do not think that our beds are being counted. My friend and I switched to a different world and while it has some issues for the most part the overbreeding seems to have stopped. We had one village where the unemployed would not use a workstation even though several different types were available. We escorted these worthless villagers outside the fence enclosing the village and sent them away to a 'village far away where they hang out and do nothing' (aka we sliced them into little pieces). New villagers appeared and they have taken jobs and are being productive members of our little society.
I'm sorry you had to switch worlds! To update my previous comment, it sounds like a lot was going on:
Possibly, villagers overbred just a little by coincidence, as described previously.
Possibly, villagers linked to a bed far away (80 blocks is not impossible). (MCPE-63311)
Possibly, villagers overbred continually. (MCPE-47212)
Villagers randomly disappeared. (MCPE-21416)
New villagers possibly linked to the lost villagers' workstations without updating their professions, enabling them to switch professions or trades later. (MCPE-62080)
New villagers stole workstations from older villagers (MCPE-43071)
I'd encourage you to vote for any of those tickets! However, since you've abandoned the world and we don't have specific steps to reproduce the overbreeding that you experienced, I will have this ticket resolved as "Cannot Reproduce."
I had the same bug.. Many villagers (even from high levels) lost their profession (Kind of), they are linked to their previous work station so no new villagers can claim it. all villagers that lost the professions became "unemployed" and act with the Net wit AI. Only after braking the work station they become able to reclame a profession from 0. but come of them just become green coated. Lost really good trades like this too.
