No data remaining to continue, returning to main menu

I keep getting a notice that interrupts my game when the world size exceeds 3.1 GB and this only began after version 1.13 update. "You are out of data storage space and Minecraft is unable to save your progress! Minecraft will return you to the Main Menu to clear up storage space."  I have determined that this is a limit set by Minecraft that doesn't allow a world data file to be larger than 3.1 GB. I have over 30 GB available on my drive. obviously I can't delete data from my world. when I reopen the world some of the data has been dropped and I can do limited things in the area where I'm at.  Right now if I go into the nether it always cuts to this screen in a short time. I also can't travel far from home without it happening, especially with monsters active(not in peaceful mode). My world has been at this 3.1 GB range for a couple months now and has never done this till the recent update. probably because of all the newly added items like foxes, etc. boosting my file size up. if there is a way to safely reduce the overall file size without loosing anything of value, Great. otherwise I believe this is programming issue that needs to be resolved by raising the cap or whatever. I'm not sacrificing my world that I've worked Sooooo Hard on and currently am trapped in a small area because of this issue. Can't even go fox hunting! thanks for your expedient resolution of this issue... 😃

I am having the same exact issue. My world is at 3.7 gigs currently, and I've never had this kind of issue until today, when I was updated to 1.13.0. The game is now broken, I, too would love to go Fox hunting...I've not been able to play my game for a couple of weeks, and I FINALLY get a day off and this. C'mon guys.

thanks Jason... if it happened to two of us then there's more and this should get fixed soon, I hope. I lucked out at being on the edge of the issue, still can play but limited. like it says, free up some space 😉 need a personal editor to delete all those places I went once and will never see again. good luck

Same issue here. Gave it an upvote, just like all the other posts that are dealing with this problem. 1.13 has a flaw that 1.12 didn't have.

it seems that its more of an in game data ballooning situation. many people have reported this issue at much lower world data file sizes. there may be a proportional amount of data that can be added to the original file size at the time of 1.13 update, for example a 1 percent addition to the original file size. I managed to make it crash after hours of doing stuff near stronghold... broke lots of blocks. when I restarted the game it was only at 3 GB and not at the 3.1 GB threshold I had hit before. so to be safer... stay near to where your at, don't fly or travel more than 500 blocks away, STAY OUT of Nether, and run in peaceful mode, monsters inflate the data size. HOPEFULLY, Mojang will deal with this soon... all I hear are crickets

I heard about this issue going on for about a year now, but my world is now getting the same error when venturing away from the center of my world. My world is only around 1GB. 986MB right now. And I have around 23GB on the drive I have Minecraft installed.

Many communities are experiencing this same issue. The host will see an error indicating it is our of space, and players will see an error saying the world is corrupt.

The community seems to be in agreement that it is related to loading new chunks, which is why it happens most often while traveling long distances, like with a boat.

There is already a bug report higher up in the priority list(90 Votes+). You can help draw some attention to our problem by voting for it & adding any additional details you may have. Hopefully by consolidating and raising awareness of the one issue we all will receive a faster resolution.
