You are out of data storage space and minecraft is unable to save your progress

When playing in Beta 1.2.20.1, using new world or existing world, with or without experimental gameplay on, after a few minutes of playing the game crashes and you get this message:
"You are out of data storage space and minecraft is unable to save your progress."

I have over 3 GB of free space on my PC. This started yesterday when I first updated to Beta 1.2.20.1 build.

Unable to save any game progress as a result.

i have the same issue on Android OS,

Also having same issue on my HTC U11, and I have about 15GB of available storage space. It also keeps making random copies of the world that I've been working on, but the copies are all of the world before any work was done on it (I've been working on it for over 2 years). The new copies will say the world is anywhere between 100-150MB, but if I go in to the world and exit it, it changes to between 2-4MB.

I'm making a separate bug report for that just in case it's not related, but it seems like the storage is buggy.

I have hit this issue recently on Windows 10 (MC v1.5.3).  File Explorer says I have 39GB of free space, yet Minecraft says I don't have enough to copy a world or to save my progress.  The world we have been playing on is about a month old and 1.1GB in size.

Also affects MCPE 1.6.0 from Amazon Appstore (on Kindle Fire)

Also affects 1.9.0.0 on bedrock edition.

Curiously this also happen when the game uses more than 300 MB of RAM.

MCPE-55137 , it is still happening. This bug is not fixed yet.

The version is currently 1.19.41. I am still having the issue, and I get a large untextured background with the same message. My world, Meridian, is 3 GB.

This report was resolved as "Fixed" by Mojang based on their understanding of a specific cause of the issue. For ongoing issues with storage space messages that seem to be erroneous please search for a newer report specific to the message you are getting. You may start by checking the "relates to" links above.

2024- I'm having this issue on the Series S and I've tried everything I can. I can't load into my world without chunks not loading at all or it kicking me due to no space. Deleted all but two corrupted worlds that I can't delete for some reason and the two worlds I play. World size is less than half a GB, around 380 MB.

January 2025 on Xbox 1S in version 1.21.51 this is still an issue. I lost my 2 year world to this bug. Moving the world to a realm or to different devices doesn't help and clearing storage does nothing.

From what I can tell, this has been going on for years and there is still no fix, despite it being such a frustrating bug for console players, especially for those with forever worlds. I've seen many tickets like this opened and then 'resolved' because it's been duplicated elsewhere, but no matter how many linked tickets I visit I can't find one that's being actively worked on and updated.

Please, devs, do more about this even if it won't be fixed immediately. I just want hope that I could come back to my world one day.
