@Christopher I don't think they consider us a large enough "class" to worry about!
What James Day said....is there a timeline? My son and I have been basically stonewalled since november! If this is true, I cannot wait to see his face when I let him know he's not going to crash!
I am just exhausted. I started a new world after reinstalling as well back in November when my world started crashing with this error. My Original world that I play with my son is 3.9 GIGS....but the new world I started in November started crashing the same way once I reached 780MB....exploration is at the heart of the reason my son and I play. We mine for supplies and materials but he loves putting a giant map wall up and then filling each map. All the awesome things out there....foxes, Bees....Pillager raids....Pillager patrols....we can't really experience any of it without worrying about the game crashing. It just sucks.
Still not working. Traveled about 1/4 of the distance of a fully zoomed out map and crash. Crash. Crash. We wait for these hot fixes/updates for weeks/months and just....nothing. Well, I hope everyone who's problem might have been solved have fun. I guess.
@spongecake89 - my world is 3.9 gigs and never had this issue until November when the update with the Foxes hit. My world has been over 2 gigs for almost a year or maybe more. This bug isn't tied to total space your files take up. I will say people were experiencing this before the update that ruined my world, so there may be other issues not related to that world.
I see this was marked as resolved....our world is still crashing. I mean no disrespect, but how is that resolved? Has it been merged with another issue? Since I reported this, I've found similar reports going back almost two years. i apologize for duplicating an issue....but....still crashing. I realize the difficulties in programming a beast like this.....all the moving parts, better together update..etc..etc....but now my new world we started while I awaited a fix has started doing the same thing and my file is only 780MBs!
I'm lost...as is my autistic son. The game is broken for us right now. Thanks for your efforts, We'll just continue to wait.
Not fixed. Crashes a LITTLE less frequently....but then the menu is all messed up...different textures buttons messed up...
At least I'm not alone. I have a 5 gig world that me and my Autistic son have been playing on since 2017. We cannot play on it for more than 10 minutes now without encountering this error. The thing is, why would we start another world when we are going to run into this again? It's a game killer, when you don't have confidence that you can consistently enjoy the product, what good is the product no matter how fun in the short term? My son is just torn up, and frankly so am I.
Still here. Still crashing after about 10 minutes or traveling a small distance, whichever comes first. My Son is heartbroken.
Not fixed by last hotfix....I just don't understand. I have a 3.9 gig world that my son and I have played on for almost 3 years and now we can't even travel to any of the remote towns and cities we've built. I have almost a TB of space left, BTW. Not a RAM issue, as I've been told it could be. Not supposed to be a file size limit that I've ever been made aware of or found doing research. My 10 year old autistic son is very dismayed by this, and I can do nothing.
Very frustrating, it's game breaking, and inexcusable. I'm seeing more reports of this out there across the internet, I'm sure it's a good sized portion of folks. I get that with such a large base of players and operating systems/environments that things happen, but it's been almost three days and I've not seen anyone respond to any of the issues being reported as a result of this latest update.
I uploaded a pic of the error message, there is also a variation that shows earth tones in the background...I've gotten both.
I too was in a boat in the middle of a large nearly world sized body of water. Not fun! I didn't notice the chest but I often multitask while playing and missed it. My world is 3.9 gigs, but I have over 700 gigs available on my C drive, and I also checked my task manager and nothing is out of whack. I've been playing this world since July 2017 and it's survived two very large updates (Update Aquatic and Village and PIllage" and very few hiccups....now this? I just wanna hunt down some foxes...you know?
I am having the same exact issue. My world is at 3.7 gigs currently, and I've never had this kind of issue until today, when I was updated to 1.13.0. The game is now broken, I, too would love to go Fox hunting...I've not been able to play my game for a couple of weeks, and I FINALLY get a day off and this. C'mon guys.
Happening on 1.13.0 - 3 times since the update I've had the game crash to this screen. When I restart it's approximately in the same place, not missing any items that I can tell. I am on Bedrock Edition, playing off of my C drive that has 700 Gigs of free space. My game file is almost 4 gigs, I have been playing this file since 7-17-2017, obviously I'm dismayed by this because I have a LOT of time invested with over 120 filled out MAPS....I have never seen this problem until the game updated this morning when I logged in. It's happened 3 times in 3 hours of playing.
I'm not getting any drops from hostile mobs outside the normal Arrows/bones/zombie flesh/gunpowder. I'm on Windows 10 Bedrock version. I do have plenty of mobs wearing armor and toting weapons and shovels but they never drop.
Problem seems to have been fixed for me on Windows 10 and for my son on Xbox1.
@Auldrick I appreciate the measured response and while I'm not a professional coder I've got a fair understanding of the challenges faced. The last line though about how it's only gamebreaking if we "give in" to it. Thing is we all play how we play. The beauty of Minecraft is I get to choose how I play. When my style/strategy is unavailable because of something like this, I (and many others) have a right to simply ask if a resolution might be near. While it's not gamebreaking for you it's nearly 90% for me. Oh, I'm hooked so I still get on and now carry a bed with me so I can lay it down and sleep whenever night falls near of any of my 13-14 protected villages. I was a late-comer to the Minecraft phenomenon, so while I'm sure there have been many frustrating bugs over the course of the game's lifespan this is the first one that actually had me frustrated with the game itself.
Before I saw Matthew Rowan's comment, I was going to ask the same thing as he. A rollback to the previous configuration seems like a logical step but that might not be possible and I'd understand that too. It does seem obvious that whatever code was updated in the latest version is responsible for the issue. We are going on 30 days now...hopefully it'll be corrected soon. Thank you again for the response.
Is there any kind of an idea when the next update will be? Seriously, I love playing this game but since this bug emerged the game is nearly unplayable. I like playing the game at night, the reason I protect my villages is so that I can walk around in lighted safety at night. This is absolutely a gamebreaking bug.
Seems to be fixed over here! Thank you to whomever finally solved this after many months!! We are in your debt!
