confirmed in 1.21.3 and 1.21.4 pre-release 3 both with and without the minecart experiment

confirmed in 1.21.1, and 24w33a with and without the experimental minecart changes

I am seeing a similar thing happen in a 1.18 server that was upgraded from 1.17. You can walk through the affected chunk, you can place blocks in place of air blocks, but you can't change any existing blocks.

If you do /data get block (coords) on a block entity you get "That position is not loaded" so the chunk is basically both visible and not loaded. Weirdest thing I have ever seen.

This is happening for me as well on a server running 1.18 and Java 17. I am seeing several impulse command blocks behaving like a repeating command block set to Always Active. The command blocks were placed there when the server was running 1.16.5 and I had no problems in 1.17 and 1.17.1. It seems to be occurring only in command blocks that use the /setblock command.

Not really because Mojang themselves made the "inconsistency" by giving powder snow that feature in the first place. It's already in the game it just doesn't generate naturally. 

If you read the last part you can find grass under powder snow which shouldn't happen anyway, and if they just change those grass blocks that would be pretty inconsistent so I see it as a bug. Why would they add the functionality of powder snow to make snowy grass under it if it won't generate like that in the first place?

Also if you look back on the introduction for the mountain biome during the biome vote you can clearly see snowy grass below powder snow in a mountain biome.

Just to clarify many portals still generate underwater in ocean biomes, but the floating ones are all in rivers, beaches, or land biomes that extend into the ocean when they shouldn't.

Can confirm on pre-release 1

I thought the video would be enough, I guess it really wasn't.

I've been playing in most recent updates and the issue is still there!

I tried it on Realms and it hapenned to me both in game and even on the start screen.

  1. I do have cloud backup enabled now, but I tried it with disabled - same

  2. Realms, this is what I play now. I know my wife doesn't get it on same switch, but her user is not connected to microsoft/nintendo account.

  3. I can’t play realms without WiFi. 

  4. I'm using SD card and I tried installing Minecraft on internal memory - same issue.
