Add-on assets disappearing in split screen

I have the same problem playing on my Xbox X, trying to play in split screen. Tried quite a lot of workarounds, but everything failed. We basically can not play and enjoy the game until it is fixed. Here is some information, which I have gathered during a troubleshooting session.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Launch Minecraft: Bedrock Edition on the Xbox console.

2. Sign in with Player 1 (Host) and load a world that has a Marketplace Add-on (with custom blocks/items) applied.

3. Player 1 can confirm the add-on is working correctly (custom items have their correct textures).

4. Player 2 (Local Split-Screen Co-op) joins the world.

5. Player 1 or Player 2 places a custom item/block from the add-on.

Observed Result

1. Player 2 cannot see the custom item/block; it is invisible (missing texture/model).

2. The problem immediately affects Player 1 (Host) as well: any newly placed custom blocks also become invisible to the host.

3. Items already placed before Player 2 joined remain visible to the host, but not the second player.

4. If Player 2 leaves the game, the issue persists for Player 1 for the rest of the session. The host must fully close and restart the Minecraft application to fix resource loading.

Expected Result

1. Both Player 1 (Host) and Player 2 (Split-Screen Guest) should be able to see the textures and models for all blocks and items from the active add-on.

2. The game's resource loading should not break or corrupt upon the second player joining.

Workarounds Attempted (and Failed)

• Having Player 2 exit and re-join the world.

• Removing the add-on from the world, saving, and then re-applying the add-on.

• Checking and changing Video/Graphics settings (e.g., Fidelity/Vibrant Visuals).

• Deleting and re-downloading the add-on from the Marketplace.

I'm also experiencing this and it's super frustrating. Me and my wife play this when we get a moment of free time and to have it taken away is super hard to deal with

Same issue on PS4 bought some packs for my partner as an early Christmas present and we can’t use any of them in split screen.

me and my girlfriend are having this issue. when i load in the world it’s fine as soon as she joins on split screen all the add on items become invisible

Same issue on ps5, using a furniture addon by xp games and right as my sister joins for split screen. Half the blocks go invisible.

I have this issue however, it happens even when you create a whole new world, I’ve tried everything possible to mend this, I use the advance engineering mod as well as horror mods, it’s a bug that needs fixed

do we have an update guys? This is starting to really irritate everyone!

This is taking forever to fix, hopefully in time for Xmas!

I would like to add that 2D textures and mob textures are not affected by the bug. It seems like it only affects 3D items and blocks

I’ve recently got an update today on Minecraft, the update didn’t fix anything. Add ons still won’t work. Its complete ruined mine and my roommates world. Add ons will only work if you’re the only one on the world. If you use split screen it disappears

Got the same issue on Switch 2 console.

The issue started manifesting after Mount Of Mayhem drop has been released. Before that drop everything in split-screen worked fine.

Same issue on Series S, but occurs inconsistently across different add-on packs. Hoping for a fix on this soon––makes our add on packs impossible to use, constantly bumping into invisible blocks and can’t see things to interact with them.

Tried playing split screen on PS5 with my son today and most of the add-on assets wont show up even after deleting and reinstalling the add-ons and restarting the PS5. Ruined his afternoon

Tried playing with my girlfriend and everytime she joined, all of our add-on related blocks turned invisible, even if she left. Please fix this. Up until this is resolved, there is absolutely no reason for anyone who plays splitscreen to buy any Add-ons off the Marketplace, as they would just end up being invisible.

I also have this issue. My kids are super upset about it over winter break they can't play together in their world.

Same issue on our PS5 bedrock world. Was hoping to get some new add ons and play with my Wife over christmas break but now its not worth it. Half of the content of our world is invisible with this bug, won't even bother playing until this is fixed.

This turned out to be a depressing christmas where I spend much of my time trying out different things to workaround this problem. Clearing cache, uninstalling, simple graphics, fancy graphics, many many different mods, signing in with both microsoft accounts and guests, horizontal split screen, vertical split screen, disabling all toggles on all accounts, predownloading the packs, running it locally, running it on Realms and all combinations above and I’m still unable to find a combination that works. If anyone has any idea that I missed: Please let us know.

There is no fixing this on your own sadly to say. Theres no workaround or exploit that will allow you to bypass add-on assets being invisible on splitscreen. We have to wait for Mojang to fix the issue. I’m sure the Mod will be upset that I am repeating information but there’s been no genuine line of communication about this getting fixed and people are confused and tired.

Did a bit of testing this morning trying to find a workaround. No luck, but did get a bit of clarity on what might be happening.

If entering the world solo with graphics set to “vibrant visuals”, when the second player joins (split screen local co-op) the graphics is forced to downgrade from “vibrant visuals” to “fancy” and the add-on item/block textures are immediately invisible for both players.

We set graphics to “fancy” from main menu before entering world solo so the second player joining isn’t forcing a graphics downgrade -  thought we’d found a fix here as the item/block textures were visible, but discovered this was only for player one. Also, when the second player approached/looked at an add-on item/block it became no longer visible to player one.

So it seems like setting the graphics to “fancy” avoids an earlier sort of sync between players, allowing player one to keep the already-loaded textures while player two fails to load them, but when player two approaches or looks at these add-on textures there’s a re-evaluation or sync for both players from the second players incomplete version of things causing the block to disappear for player one.

This bug is annoying! Please fix
