PlayStation: "Not enough space" when trying to download Marketplace content

This report is specific to Sony Playstation. For a similar issue related to Nintendo Switch see MCPE-36670.

Note

Approximate steps to reproduce based on pinned comments:

  1. Install MC on PlayStation, log in to MC with your Microsoft Account, and purchase something in the Marketplace.

  2. Close MC on the PlayStation.

  3. Log in to your Microsoft account on another device.

  4. Reopen MC on the PlayStation and try to download the Marketplace content you purchased earlier.

Expected result
You can download the content.

Observed result
You get a message saying "Not enough space - xx MB"
Each time you try to download the content, the amount of MB reported in the message doubles.

I bought Minecraft on my PS4 and have previously made in game purchases before that were fine. I recently bought currency and used it to purchase a game called Pets Collection and it's in my inventory but it won't download as it says there's not enough space on my PS4 system. When you try again it says the same thing but where it says 'not enough space' the number of MB doubles. There's loads of storage space on my PS4 and in the Minecraft game itself but I'm just stuck. It won't let me download anything else now, it's like there's a glitch/bug. I've been in touch with the PlayStation people and their suggestions have not helped (restore licenses etc.) and directed here for advice after advice to delete more templates and worlds failed to help, even though there's plenty of space on my Minecraft profile, it just shows the same message).

I also have a similar problem, when playing my world, I get a warning that the storage space is full and you won't be able to save the progress, but when I see the storage space bar it shows that there is still plenty of space, I'm really desperate, I can't play any world

I just got this issue today and was looking for any way to resolve this issue

migrated

Hi. I am a French user of Minecraft on Nintendo . I got the same issue when updating a purchased extra game, such as Toy's Story.

migrated

This has been rather frustrating.

I had 9 texture packs. All were downloaded and all were working. They were working that is, until update 2.23. And then it started. i converted an older legacy world to show my kids the progress on their castles, and it froze / hung when converting the City Texture pack. When i close the application, and restarted Minecraft, i started getting the error message that many have been having.

When i tried to activate my other texture packs, the same message occurred. so I deleted them, and went to the store to download them again, and all of the packs showed "downloading" and nothing happened. so I stopped the downloads on each one to try and download them all again. When I clicked on download on any packs to re-download them, same message about no space available.

I have not uninstalled / reinstalled Minecraft, because i should not have to do this at all. This is a major bug from what I can read on the web, and nothing has been done to try and fix this. Even though you people apparently have lots of time to add new functionality, it's rather useless if people cannot play the game. So maybe allocating some resources to help fix this issue (and many others....) once and for all might be a good idea.

My kids and their friends have started referring to this game now as "Minecraft Broken" and "Bedrock, the game that fun forgot", which i think is rather unfair, but also appropriate given the circumstances.

I use my PS4 for this game. I also own a copy on PC which seems to work fine, including the texture packs. But my legacy stuff in on my PS4 and I would really like to be able to use my texture packs on Bedrock WITHOUT having to re-download them constantly. This never had any problems on Legacy. Maybe it should be updated to work the same way, as it would certainly fix many issues.

I am using legacy only for now until this issue is resolved, which from what I read, is far from being resolved.

Thanks

Still no progress or resolve here i see. I also found another ticket which is not associated to this one, and should be.

I've got the same problem on xbox one x since weeks!

Ok, so I ran into this issue recently and fixed the issue by deleting and reinstalling Minecraft.

This doesn't take long and decided to give this a try following numerous YouTube claimed fixes that tell you to delete data from your PS4 (Duplicate game saves, screenshots/ video from your share library etc; you don't need to do this! Unless of course you actually don't have any space left, obviously. I had originally thought it had something to do with my Microsoft cloud account since I was signed in to this, but once I'd removed this feature for syncing data so that you could play on any device, still did not work.

So just to recap, delete the installation only and reinstall and when you load up for the first time, you'll be able to download and/ assign worlds, texture packs and add-ons accordingly.

Best, Brad.

migrated

not really an option for many people to do this for various reasons, deleting and reinstalling. some people (like myself) have internet packages with monthly download caps, for example. and when you think about it, what happens when (not if) it happens again.. delete and reinstall once more ? not really ideal. it's mostly a temp workaround at best, but not a solution to the actual problem itself, which, apparently, 4J Studios and Mojang don't seem to care about, as exampled by the current bug status which has been the same status for a very long time now......

migrated

Is this ever going to get fixed? I have texture packs I can't use because of this not enough free space crap.

migrated

It used to be intermittent, but since 2.29 it seems permanent - it's driving me crazy.  If I buy something new, it works and downloads fine, however, downloading anything from the past seems to be impossible, either it freezes up completely or I get the not enough space prompt despite having about 3TB free!

migrated

this keeps happening to me too. best solution i can find so far even though its a pain is to uninstall and reinstall the main game. then you should be able to download the worlds you want. hope this helps

migrated

Up to now, I’ve been trying to download from “My Content” in the store and having very little luck.  I mentioned earlier that I was able to download and install new content with no issues.  This set me to thinking that there may be a problem with “My Content”, and I think I’ve been proven right – instead of downloading from there, I made a note of all my skins and worlds etc... that were not downloaded and installed and then I searched for them in the store, like I was going to buy them.  Lo and behold I managed to download about a dozen of them with no problems.  It did freeze up eventually, but I’ll have another go today.

So, those who are working on this issue – “My Content” maybe somewhere you need to look to decipher why this is a problem.

migrated

are you able to download content that takes up more space than the one that won't work?

migrated

Yes, it was working no matter what the size.  However, I'm thinking the size isn't really relevant, the error gets thrown out due to a bug, I don't think it even checks how much space you have, else it would surely get it right.

Anyway, I was astounded.  It's been such a nightmare for such a long time I nearly cried with relief!  I will see if I can download the remainder today, or at least a few.  By the way, I'm using a PS5, I will try it on my PS4 later, but since there isn't a Minecraft for PS5, I figured the behaviour would be the same.

migrated

Hi @Magdalena - I'll try to dial down the grumbling and keep to workarounds and attempting to pinpoint the source of the issue, many thanks!

migrated

Magdalena,

If this issue was being "actively" looked at, and not just seemingly forgotten (yes i check the full workflow and status every week), then perhaps there would be no need for "extra" comments. Unfortunately, that's not the case, and it's extremely frustrating from a user's perspective. Updates come and go, and still no resolve. So how else are we to convey this frustration ?

I will, however, add some extra details and be clear as I can for this ticket, as per your "request".

  1. I am on the PS4 (although I also have a PC version as well, which I rarely play)

  2. My PC version, can access all the texture packs, without any issues, as well, as downloading new packs from the store. Meaning, the issue is not with the store, or with the account, but with the console itself (Switch, Xbox, PS4), as I have seen others with different console also having the same issues.

  3. I cannot uninstall, and reinstall Minecraft on the PS4. I have a monthly cap from my ridiculously overpriced ISP (Canadian ISP's are all above the global average), so doing this is NOT an option. Not to mention, I still play the legacy version and have tons of saves from my kids and I, which I have no idea if it all be lost somehow doing this process, and I am not taking that chance.

  4. I have done the "clear cache" process, as described on the wiki's troubleshooting pages, and on other tickets here. Clearing the cache does nothing.

  5. I've deleted the packs from the Storage section and from the Texture packs section in the Setting's from inside the game menu. Does nothing.

  6. Downloading from the store generates the same messages.

  7. I've checked and rechecked the system's folders, and nothing. I currently have 120 gigs free on my PS4. downloading a 20mg pack should be nothing.

What I have noticed, is that the textures do not behave as it did on the legacy version, when a pack was bought and installed, the pack was installed directly on the PS4, and we only needed to switch to it from the main save menu or game menu. on Bedrock, this is obviously not the case, as the packs are not saved locally, they may be cached in the storage, depending IF I am connecting with my kids for multiplayer functionality, and even then, only partially (I'll explain in a moment). Bedrock seems to "download" the packs constantly, or trying to, as apparent from the "downloading global textures" messages each time I load the game, or the re-downloading of the texture pack that I was using, back when this was working.

I think that this directly or indirectly is responsible for this issue, since the texture packs are installed on the PC, and I never get the "downloading pack" messages at all. But the PS4 (and assuming consoles) have a different behaviour apparently, and the information is not stored locally for the game. Otherwise there would be no "downloading pack" messages at all. Change this process, and I believe it will fix the console issues. Console user should not have to "download" any texture packs we own / have bought, constantly, over and over again, anyway. We didn't on the legacy version.

As for my comment on connecting to my kids. They have the City Texture pack, so connecting to their world, I managed to get 99% download then an error. I tried a dozen times with the same results. However, The pack's texture partially cached in the storage for the save of my kid's world. So when I connect to their world, I get half of the city textures, and half of the default textures. Maybe this helps, a bit, who knows, but I am adding details as you asked.

Hopefully this helps, and hopefully this ticket will be taken more seriously and actively.

thanks

[Mojang] Mega_Spud (Jay)

Thanks for your patience everyone.

Could you please let us know if you are using any external storage at all?

Also, Have you tried clearing any cached packs on your device? You can access this by going to Minecraft>Settings>Storage - from there you can see how much space is taken up with worlds as well as cached and downloaded packs, and you might want to try removing anything that is unwanted, which might allow you to re-download the marketplace packs.

migrated

I'm not using any external devices at all.

I tried clearing the cache, as noted in my previous post, as well as storage. I've done so many times without success. Today's latest 2.30 update also did nothing to resolve the issues. The visible cache here is not the issue, there is obviously a hidden cache on the PS4, and between the constant "downloading packs", and the game saves, is what is causing this issue, as I also previously mentioned. Compare the functionality of texture packs between the Legacy version and bedrock, and the answers should help address this issue for everyone.

migrated

I'm also getting the same problem, I've just purchased a ps4 500GB as I don't plan to have many games on it. I downloaded minecraft in a bundle with a skin pack, texture pack and two theme worlds, Greek and little big planet. I Downloaded the texture pack, went to download the world's and it said I did not.have enough space. Bearing in mind this is the first game I've downloaded on the ps4, there is loads of room!

I then deleted minecraft and reinstalled, managed to download little big planet first but Greek failed and now I apparently have no room, I also now do not have room for texture packs which I was able to.download before.

So apparently my new ps4 only has room for minecraft and 1 add on......... I don't think that should be the case.

I’m having the exact same issue as in the pictures. I have plenty of storage on both my PS4 and in Minecraft. I only own 1 texture pack and today bought a world that would not download. It would show the exact same message saying it could not download due to lack of storage space on the “PlayStation 4”.  I’ve use barely half of my 1tb on my PS4 console storage. Yes I did the same thing as everyone else. Cleared my cache on both my PS4 and in Minecraft. Delete anything unnecessary including games I don’t play anymore, picture, and videos. I restart my PS4, turn on and off for hours before trying to download again in Minecraft from the market. I can’t even play on a friends server that requires any type of download. It’ll say the same thing not enough storage. I also know it’s not my PS4 having the problem as I bought and downloaded a new game from the PS4 store which ran perfectly fine. This is definitely a Minecraft bug problem involving both it’s storage recognization and market within Minecraft.

migrated

I am having this same issue. Purchased a few mods and it won't download says that I have no space. Sometimes it will download the file then say failed at failed once its finished downloading or will say no space

migrated

Things are now worse.  At one time any new purchases were fine, it was just trying to download existing purchased items that were the problem.  After uninstalling/reinstalling sometimes I was allowed one or two.  But now it just flat out doesn't work, for new and existing add-ons, no matter what troubleshooting I do.  I even get the disk full on a completely clean, new install with no worlds.  I've just given up now, I've wasted so many days of uninstalling/reinstalling/deleting all my worlds, and cache but nothing seems to fix this my end.  All on multiple PS4s and one PS5 - I'm just going to throw in the towel and wait for a fix as there's nothing I can do until Mojang takes the issue seriously.

Just downloaded Minecraft into my PS4 (I had to first delete the disc copy, cuz apparently they are different??). Not only does it keep telling me I don’t have space to download any of my packs, even the packs that were included with my purchase of the game today. . .but it also doesn’t show all the packs I own, unless I go to the storefront!

Emailed Mojang today to report the issue. . .& even tho I see here it’s been going on since October LAST YEAR, they replied to me telling me to go here & that they “have a team working to resolve the issue.”

Update: we have deleted literally everything involving Minecraft, reset the PS4, and re-downloaded everything and it still does not work! We even tried reinstalling the disc version, which is what my husband is using & that also didn’t work. It has also jumped to his PS4, and now my husband is unable to download his skins, mash-ups and packs, when he was able to just the other day! Neither of us are using any external storage, & my husband is convinced “it’s a zero where it doesn’t belong”. . .he has threatened to reformat my PS4 to see if that helps, except that is a costly choice due to how the internet in this town works, so we have not done it. . .his last words were to request a refund for my packs, BUT I WOULD MUCH PREFER TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THEM!

Hi, I'm also having the same problems! After reading the previous comments, I can also say that these issues are the same for me too! Ps4 system has tons of space available and so has Minecraft storage. All other games and downloads away from Minecraft are working fine and no issues.

My issues were realised around 2 weeks ago when trying to download 'Seaside Story'

The file won't download and continuously gives an error message - Not Enough Space 16mb ' You do not have enough space available on your PS4 system to download the items. As well as this, my existing worlds / packs / skins etc which I purchased and have been using a long time previously are now failing to download and not showing up etc.

I've contacted PlayStation support and also Seaside Story developers (wondered if it could have been an issue with thier files)  and I've followed all instructions given by both with regards to deleting online cache and cookies etc, freeing up space,  deleting old unused worlds/ packs etc, reinstalls and re-downloads, deleting ps4 storage, re-setting ps4, refresh all items etc but still no luck. Both have advised me to contact Minecraft,  so I have and they have pointed me to this post and advised that I add comment to this existing bug issue and keep looking for updates.

However, they can't say whether they can fix the issue, just mights and maybes at this stage. I'm not very confident as this post is really old!!! Please help us all Minecraft!!

So, something new happened this past weekend while connecting with my daughter to play our usual world.

As I stated in a prior post, even with repeated failed attempt to download the City pack in order to play in her world, the City pack did finally manage to load about 50% of its textures, so that when I play, i have about half City and half default textures.

This time though, I tried for over 30 minutes to connect to her world, and each time it would try to re-download the city pack (why would it re-download if it's supposed to already be on my PS4 ????) and fail each time. She finally had to change her settings to uncheck the ability to use the same texture pack as her world, in order for me to connect and play. 2 issues here which were apparent:

  1. There was no option to ignore the errors, and continue onto her world, after the failed attempts. I just got bounced back to the main worlds menu each time.

  2. the error message was "error downloading the texture pack from the server", which reinforces my theory that texture packs are not stored locally on the console, as with the legacy version, but "online". meaning that any pack we pay for, we don't actually "have". Using up bandwidth each time (concerning for people with download caps for ISP's), as well as not actually storing the packs locally, is what leads to this issue.

There should be no reason why the packs we "pay" for are not stored locally. We pay for them as we did in the previous Minecraft version, but that older version, everything on locally. There were never issues like the ones right now. So why is this process different now ? It's the direct result of mishandling cache and storage on the console. The only way to fix this, is to make it work as it did before in the last version of Minecraft before Bedrock borked everything.

And to add insult to injury, I read the patch notes from this morning's 2.31 update to the PS4.. so an "urgent" patch release, outside the normal release schedule, to address retailer codes for "owned" packs (free packs) takes precedence over paying customers who have issues with packs they own ???

This issues gets worse as time goes by, more and more paying customers are being impacted by this issue, and we're getting ignored, over something like this ?

Good to know where paying customers stand with you people...Can you please fix this issue, and change the entire process for texture packs and downloads for the store so that the items we pay for are stored locally on our consoles and not having to re-download things constantly, which is where this issue kicks in. Problem would be solved if you did....

migrated

Hello and unfortunately I am back.  I am having  this same issue with Ps4.  It started exactly when everyone here is talking about.  Seaside Story.  It has only gotten worse since.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Minecraft 4 times now in 2 months.

I have deleted all old online content and old saves and I agree that we do not truly own our content.  This saddens me so.  I am barely using 15% of my MC storage and only about 25% of my total Ps4 storage.

Now today it is completely ruined anything after I spent 1500 for a map.  My old maps do not work either and the store has the pink and black glitched texture....

Please fix.

So the consensus is that Seaside Story is a likely catalyst then?  The timing for when I loaded it, this makes sense.  The fictional, 'not enough space' message has been a problem for some time, but it was intermittent, and although annoying, a bit of tinkering would make the download work sometimes, but now, it's a 100% failure rate. I'd be interested to see if anyone who did not get Seaside Story has this issue.

migrated

I don’t agree that seaside is the catalyst. . .only because my husband never tried to download seaside and he is having the exact same issues the rest of us are

migrated

I don’t believe it’s due to seaside story aswell. I never downloaded or bought it. I had bought a maze world when I discovered the bug that would not download due to this bug.

migrated

I agree that the timing was at the same time of Seaside Story, I have never once had this problem before but I am guessing this a much larger Minecraft/Marketplace and Microsoft problem as my one friend who has an older ps4 does not have the new gui for marketplace that I have yet he is running the same version. 1.17.34 He was very surprised to see that I had that.   Mine looked like it was coming directly across Microsoft Where he still has the older look.

migrated

I don't think any specific packs trigger this issue. I believe it's the culmination of many factors, including how this is set to handle the cache on the PS4 locally, given that all types of packs are not stored locally but on their servers, which Bedrock constantly downloads and re-downloads (which should not happen period, if we pay for something, it should be stored locally and accessed locally as with the legacy version of Minecraft).

My problem didn't start by a download. my problem started after i had bought a few packs and free ones from the store, and everything was fine, until an update was made, and right after that update, things started.

The only way this issue starts getting proper attention, is obviously if more people start watching and voting for it. We're not retailers offering free codes, we're just paying customers, so we don't get special treatment or attention, so we need to go through the proper channels and wait patiently to have this addressed so we can play our game. I'm playing legacy version in the meantime, as at least that version is stable.

migrated

One of the things that makes me very reluctant to uninstall and reinstall, even if it allows me to perhaps download another template (usually only one before the error comes back), is that stuff that I'd already installed, has disappeared.  I'm not doing it again.  I've done it scores of times.  I have (check) 62 skins/worlds etc... I currently have only 4 downloaded.  Just a week ago when I had that run of luck and thought I'd cracked it, I managed about a dozen downloads.  They have since gone.  If they are stored in the cloud (I agree they shouldn't), why the hell do they disappear - it doesn't make any sense!?!

migrated

I agree with the timing, this was around the time of an update and the map was given for free it is why it sticks out.  I am not sure which update, but searching the different Jira tickets I see that 1.17.32 seems to be the main culprit hitting all platforms and making the RAM go through the roof on Windows 10 & Linux users and so imagine it running through 8gb gddr RAM when someone on a gaming laptop is having it take up 22+ and more of a 31gb RAM &100% CPU.  This has been reported on a separate ticket & that ticket includes all platforms. I am also unable to change my realms server needless to say, also claiming I don't have space.  And to cap it all, my worlds now keep crashing Minecraft, with a  CE-38700-8 error.  This nonsense is giving me a nervous breakdown, I think I need to just leave it and play something else until Mojang gets their act together.

Also unable to install newly purchased packs on PS4. 94gb free on the system. "Not enough space" with the same pink/black checkered icons OP has in their screenshots.

Like everyone else above I also get the not enough space message even though I have plenty of space. I have tried deleting the save files, deleting the game and reinstalling, restarting the PS4 and nothing has worked. Once reinstalling the game I can download a world but once it finishes it doesnt actually download and when trying to download it again I get the not enough space message. I am able to download and play just fine on my android phone so it seems to be an issue for PS4.

same issue here on ps4 Bedrock v1.17.34
planty of storage available. (≥90% free)
also try trinstall worked fir one mod and error back again.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, It allowed me to download two packs, and then I get the error. I have it on PS4, it's a Pro version, and I have it on an external drive, which I moved it to when I wouldn't stop getting the error. Also, everything I bought from the Playstation store downloads with no problem and I have access to them. This really sucks, my 11-year-old daughter bought a pack for her and her sister spending ten bucks to buy those gems, and they can't even play them. Between this bug and the L-404 one, this game is a mess.

Having exact same issue, PS4 have free storage (made sure and even deleted more games 200+GB free) + Minecraft storage in settings shows free space but when I try to download content from 'My content' or Store it says not enough disk space.

Tried reinstall the game without success. I hope this issue being consider in prioritization to be fixed soon or at least give us workaround for meanwhile.

I bought a new ps4 only thing on it is minecraft, and my profile. Still having this issue... can't download anything. 1 tb system. No content purchased can be downloaded. Version 1.17 just installed again today.

migrated

I’m having the same issue…I do YouTube videos of the maps I purchase and download, and this is causing issues, since I was planning on streaming some stoneblock this afternoon. I can’t download the update for stoneblock.

1.17.40 update.. I was able to install 2 of my Madu-Up packs on PS5 after this update before it said storage full (with over 100GB free on PS5). I still have 2 more mashups, 4 texture packs, and 48 world's to download and install.

When is this going to be fixed? Why is there a storage limit at all?

migrated

I am having the same issue as well, plus some more haha.

So I have spent $70 to buy this game and some packs all within the last couple days.

Downloaded one pack and planned on doing the rest later. Came back today bought some more packs, and went to download a few and it says my ps4 does not have enough space... which is bull my system itself has about 110 gigabytes and my external has 2.3tb.

I have Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, and nothing works. Struggled to get the first pack I had originally downloaded successfully the first day to get put back on. Took a while but it worked, but still back to the no space again. Plus I only have one world and one character. So that doesn't take up that much space, and now having issues with character creation.

I am really starting to get extreamly mad at this point, because I feel like I have waisted $70 on a game that just won't work.

Really wish I had read up on the issues before I bought the game, because I am seeing people that are going through the same issues. From like 2018 with no resolution.

Yes, I think we've all reached the undeniable conclusion that this is a very serious bug that Mojang needs to address.  I managed to get a hold of a brand new PS4 slim, set it up and installed Minecraft only.  Needles to say, the same issue.  So that's a third PS4, along with my PS5.  Sometimes game developers have difficulty identifying an issue that some have and some don't. It doesn't appear that this applies here, it's not difficult to replicate. I sincerely hope that they are trying to fix this issue instead of kicking the can down the road.

migrated

Just downloaded the new update, it let me download a couple of my packs, and the gave the same not enough space error.

migrated

Yes, the same thing happens when you uninstall and reinstall.  It teases you with one or two of your packs, and there it goes again same error!  You would think that continually uninstalling and reinstalling would allow you to eventually download all the packs you need, but unfortunately not, as while you do this, some of your packs disappear as if you never downloaded them in the first place, so it's a whack-a-mole waste of time, data, and energy.

migrated

as Matthew said above, the same happened to me, after 2-3 times of uninstalling and reinstall, all our previously purchased mods disappeared, also the remaining tokens ~2K is gone as well.
so not only is it super disappointing also a loss of time and money,

where is Mojang, guys? why no response in here? give us some hope or acknowledgment of this issue.

1.17.40 Did nothing for me!  This is very saddening.  I am working or WAS with two other builders and a command person to open a new realm.  Work has come to a complete halt since 1,17.34 and continues to be halted.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, deleted, reformatted the drive, reinstalled after I saw on discord there was a new update... To no avail.

I am including several pics from after the install.  They show exactly how much space I have and how little space I am using in MC and PS4 storage.  I DO NOT have any external storage, why would I? I have 651gb free space...yet I am being told I cannot download my Mozaria pack 97mb or any pack for that matter.  Also Marketplace and My Content and even now the section inside the settings that shows all the packs I own even though none are downloaded, missing_texture (pink/black check)

Please take us seriously, This is not only a personal game for me but I and others are trying to make a Realm that others can enjoy.  We have taken hundreds of hours, building it by hand and are now at a standstill.  We are building this on a Windows 10, we can no longer connect to him because of a separate confirmed ticket MCPE-143156

I have a new Realms Plus subscription on my Sony Playstation 4 but I am unable to download any of the Realms Plus games. At the Minecraft start screen I select Create New World, then scroll down to “Featured Realms Plus Templates,” then select a game template. The space for the "Download" button briefly flashes "Realms Plus ___" then changes to "Download." I select it, then get the message “You do not have enough room on your hard disk."  Sometimes it goes a step further and then says “Download Failed.”  There is plenty of storage room on my PS4.

Today I got a notification when coming to xheck on the status of the ticket that I should not comment here unless I have updates and it  redirected me to the "If you want a refund" comment.

I have an update.

I logged in on ps4 v1.17.40

I went to update my one pack and it was letting me.  HOWEVER, It said "Update Failed"

I attempted again and now again I get the error msg of do not have enough space on my system.  I will not repeat pictures that are for some reason double posted on the 21st.

I do NOT want a refund.

I do NOT believe this has anything to do with any pack.

missing_texture in the marketplace, my content, and even my setting of mc is a MC issue.

I have accounts on all platforms, please try to replicate this on a ps4.  All of us here are having the issue on that platform.

I have replicated this issue on multiple PS4's, including a brand new one.  I have tested it on other PS4's with different accounts.  I have described the issue accurately on this and other tickets.  I think I have done more troubleshooting on this issue than any game I've troubleshot in 40 years of being a gamer!  This is what I do for a living, I know how to isolate and fix bugs on games, so please do not patronize me or other people on this thread.  I have never known an error so easily replicated, we are begging you to find the resources to fix it.

1.17.41

Still happening

Ps4 has 651gb system FREE Storage

Only Using 240 mb of MC STORAGE

Have 0 resource packs activated besides Vanilla

Using 0mb of Online storage, I DO NOT HAVE an external HD or Storage.

All Cache including PS4 cache has been deleted.

Problem still persists.  I believe this is a handshake issue between MS servers and PS servers.  OR this is a problem with the new "resource pack" that is the marketplace new look and the Halloween Splash Page

I DO NOT believe this is a speed issue.  I run on a low average 100mbs.

Please help us.  I have spent money that I cannot use the product.

I do NOT want a refund.

Matthew has replicated this as have we all.  Please give us the courtesy of doing the same

Thank you

I'm also having the same issue. Plenty of space on PS4 & plenty of space in game (see attached). This was first encountered after purchasing minecoins to buy a world from the store.

[media]

Yesterday it wasn't even letting me open a world I had already created. Realms is also giving back download errors. There was an error that popped back similar to one listed above, it said there was an issue with behavior/resource packs. I noticed at times in the store that some of the templates main picture will be  checkered purple and black. I've completely reset everything. Unlinked, relinked, the whole 9. I'm using the most current version of minecraft. Please advise....

migrated

We play daily. My son purchases games literally every day. I recall having the same exact issue this time last year. Another user had mentioned the stores Halloween splash page. Could you explore that possibility further? Also, I create a new world in Realms but when I do, the picture is black and white. I also noticed the mimecraft default resource pack looks different.

migrated

Also, when I try to create a new world the world preference for a starting map is selected and defaulting to that option which isn't normal

migrated

Mineplex is the only server that I can connect to and also the only one that doesnt have any halloween maps at the moment

migrated

I just attached pics of my content log history. Those are all different file names that are unable to be found. That's what happens when I scroll through ONLY my own world content purchased from the store. When i scroll through the main stores content that does not happen.

migrated

Uninstalled the game, reinstalled, didnt help. Purchased a whole new digital copy (I was getting the error using disc). I was able to create one world before it started giving me the same error. I reset my PS4, rebuilt the database, restored my licenses on PS4, cleared out everything and started from scratch. Same issue.

migrated

So from my experiments if I uninstall and then redownload, I can download before it updates the resource pack (shows purple crystals underground instead of pumpkin field currently).  Typically the resource pack updates by the time I've downloaded one mash up pack.  If I reinstall, then wait for the resource pack to update, then try and download it gives the not enough space issue straight away. My guess is something in the resource pack changes folder permissions on the temp folder (based on the errors given when turning on the debug logging).

migrated

I have been logging onto the game every now and then since I reported the problem. It will let me download two or three things that I have already purchased before giving me the error message. I noticed that the pic of what I was downloading will change to a purple and black square, and then I get the error message.

When I installed the game in October, I applied the patch 2.32. I got the same issue reported. Somehow, things started working after 2.33 was released and installed. I have the game working!!!

However, support told me that everything was fixed now and I should reinstall the game. Reinstalling the game implied installing the latest patch which is currently 2.33, what a mistake it was. After running the game, I can only download a couple of worlds form the marketplace. It was working when I went from 2.32, then 2.33. It is not working going directly to 2.33.

I can not install an earlier version in PS4...so I will have to wait until 2.34. It seems that the 2.33 patch fixed something with the cache if it is there...but not if it doesn't exist yet.

Please tell support to stop asking your customer to reinstall the game.

Me and my friends finally figured out why no one can download their content the bug occurs when you have more then one device linked with the Microsoft account example my friend had the mobile version and PlayStation linked giving the unified store however signing out of the mobile version from Microsoft then deleting the PlayStation Minecraft app and reinstalling caused the PlayStation version with the tokens to return allowing content to be downloaded normally the problem is the unified store dosnt play nice with PlayStation version it tries to load both stores these ones I have attached so to get your PlayStation to work again no other device can be linked to your Microsoft account
(I've added another screenshot it appears to be the 2 stores merged together the icons dupe clicking the very bottom icon the 2nd copy of the pack will work and download normally it's confirmed the store is loading the unified and PlayStation stores. ) Recap sign all other devices from Microsoft account leaving only PlayStation linked delete and reinstall the app to get the PlayStation store only your content will download normally)

migrated

I am glad you got yours working, but this is still a problem for me and does not seem to be related to having my account on two versions. I had my account logged in on PS4 & only logged into pocket edition when my PS4 version was not functioning properly. . .

On another note, my husband now can no longer sign into his Microsoft account on his PS4. We have no idea why or how it got logged out, but it keeps saying that his account is linked to a different psn (which makes no sense because he only has the one psn account). So now not only can neither of us download packs, skins & worlds, he can’t even get connected to his account to even play any longer. . .

migrated

Ok, I got it to work once, but then that store with the strange new wrap came back.  Also the store, when loading is doubling (at least) the content.  This means there are two versions.

I only have one other account with MC that this could be pulling from, my Java account.

Strangely though, my Java has not been moved yet to MS, However, when logging in, it has the same name or did as my bedrock for ps4 account.

Does Java have it's own unique store? I know that sounds completely stupid but I am old school and there was no centralized anything for Java and I have never seen one.  On the other hand the ONE thing we all have in common is this same store skin.  Other players I know who play cross platform but do not have any other microsoft accounts running MC do not have this issue or this store.  It is like the PlayStation store and the bedrock store are running on top of one another.

migrated

After turning text to speech on in the accessibility settings, I was able to hear an error that was not shown on the screen while trying to access the Minecraft store. It states "error connecting store 405505". This error is very consistent. For additional information, I have not created a Microsoft account since I don't plan to play it in another platform. I am just using the playstation network account.

After 2.3.4, still the same issue.  However, after 2.35 it's resolved for me!  I was able to download all 73 of my addons with no errors.  I couldn't believe it!!  This has been an issue for such a long time I feel quite emotional that it's all over.  I'm still annoyed that Mojang/Microsoft took such a long time.  I sincerely hope that everyone else with this issue also has had this issue resolved, please let us know.

migrated

Not fixed at all for me after this update. Same issue. Same messages. I tried from the Global Resources under Settings and "no space" popped up again. I tried going to the store to try there. but somehow, i can't even access my packs or anything from the top bar at all. I can only navigate the actual packs menus and below. So re-downloading fro the store is a total bust there as well. I have Cached texture pack for City that I can't even delete now as well. ...

1 year now I have been waiting to play the world I built for my kids on the Legacy version of Minecraft, so that my kids and I can connect at least while they're on lockdowns and so on at their home, and we can't even do that.... All i want is to use the City pack with our world, it's a simple request. Could you give me that at least please ?

migrated

Dont delete the game to try and fix. I did and now i cant download any dlc purchases, i lost the use of everything. Weird thing is my world still has use of the texture packs that were loaded before everything went broken and my ps4 storage says those dlc are still installed but the game itself shows they are not downloaded so they wont apply to anything new.

Is anyone even trying to fix this problem?

migrated

After update 2.35 I was able to download everything I own! I have not tried to purchase and download anything new as of yet. . .& my husband still can’t not access his account to try for himself yet

migrated

@Salamander Feist - Same with me, what a relief!  The only problem I've since had is that my largest world sometimes has difficulty loading.  I get just sky everywhere with the occasional visible sheep, or I end up with purple-and-black-check world, or it refuses to load with a not enough space error, none of which I've had before.  It's fine though as it rights itself after a few restarts/reboots, so it's a small price to pay!

migrated

The issue is back thanks to the patch update. Lovely.

migrated

To me, the issue is completely resolved on the PlayStation 4/5, but I realize that for a lot of people out there it still persists, so I hope this is still being investigated.  I am going to move over to MCPE-36670, as I'm having the issue on the Switch, and I suggest anyone in the same boat as me move over there as well.

migrated

It's not just plaguing downloads of packs that haven't been "downloaded," but updating texture pack that are already "downloaded" doesn't happen either.

I was wondering why the two packs I have "downloaded" weren't showing new textures for the new blocks added with the deep dark and mangrove swamp blocks and mobs.  I have Natural and RealCW "downloaded," but in the store, they are both showing a download progress bar without any progress being made and a blue bubble with a yellow exclamation point in the upper right corner.

Additionally, when I open the chat box with my world loaded, I'm greeted with a message that "one or more of my resource or behavior packs did not load properly" (or something like that).  I've noticed that message for a while now, but it wasn't until I noticed the long-un-updated textures for new stuff that I started to investigate.  So, I don't know how long, exactly, this has been an issue for me.

So, yeah, count this as a "me too" post, but I haven't seen anyone add that extra info, yet.

I had this issue today (24 Sep 2022). I don't have any external storage. It was possibly associated to updates requiring us to log in with our Microsoft accounts. However just logging in with our Microsoft accounts did not fix the problem.

What did fix the problem was uninstalling Minecraft from the PS4 and reinstalling it, then logging in with Microsoft accounts. This fixed (or worked around) the issue.

Purchased "super cute texture pack" for my children, PS4 says that it is installed but in game it says "you do not have enough space available on your PlayStation 4 system to download the Super Cute Texture Pack" but there is 100GB of free space and the download is only 12mb! Please fix this soon!

migrated

First time running into this issue. I tried to download a new texture pack ( Arguably a quite large one) and got an error message saying there is not enough space. I play on PS5 so I know it is limited by the design for the PS4 but I have ample space on my system. The in game storage is only being used for 1 world with a file size of 90 mb and the save data as necessary. The texture pack is Earthy by Superbusy. It is a size of approximately 667 mb. This should not reach the "limit" of space which I understand to be 2 to 4 GB. I feel as though Mojang should not allow users to purchase these larger textures if they have coded limits to in game storage.

migrated

You want to hear the funny part is that I was able to launch the earthy texture pack on my phone and have the PS5 join the world which allowed the PS5 to actually download the full pack but it only downloaded it to the cache and was still not usable on my worlds even though it was sitting there in my storage, so the only way to play it is to have your phone running the world and your PS5 joining it, why am I able to download it fully with no problem when joining my phone server, but not be able to download it normally from the marketplace doesn't make any sense.💀

migrated

This 'bug/issue' is still happening today 19/4/23. I bought a texture pack last night and have been unable to use it because apparently there's not enough space on my PS4 system. Why are you still restricting storage space on PS4/5?

migrated

I've been having the same issue, but when I first experienced it I removed several texture packs and worlds to no avail. Now I can't even get the texture packs back that I removed because of this bug. I'm ready to start asking for refunds for said packs if the issue isn't resolved soon. I would recommend everyone else do the same, that might light a fire. 5/27/2023

Tried to download the free Hermitcraft map off the marketplace today, 03/26/24 and this is STILL happening.....

Okay, so I don't know how I missed the recently pinned comment before, as I remember looking through all the comments when I first came to this bug report, but I just gave it a try, and it might have worked.  Of course, it could just be that I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, too.  Why?  Well, I got a PS5 a couple of months ago, and everything installed quite nicely on it then, including downloading my texture packs from the marketplace.

I didn't realize until today after reading that comment that I might actually be signed into Minecraft with my MS account on something other than a PS console, and I was.  I can't remember when I did that (it was on my linux computer), so I can't say if that coincided with first experiencing this issue on my PS4.  So, I signed out on my computer, launched Minecraft on my PS4, was still getting the issue, then continued with the "fix" in the pinned comment by uninstalling and reinstalling, and it worked.

Fired up the PS5, and everything appears to be working like it did since I got it and installed Minecraft on it.  I had an update to one of my texture packs to download, and it did so without issue.

Same issue.
Cleared cache, removed all downloads, removed 100s of worlds, still can't download my purchases.
Logged into another PlayStation account where Minecraft was never used.  Purchased the world (again!) from the Store, can't download it!
This is insane.  I have two very disappointed kids.
Apparently this bug report was opened 4 years ago!

I have a severe version of this issue. I can't do anything because of this "low data storage" pop-up. It appears when I try to play on my world, when I try to copy my world, when I click on the marketplace, when I try to create a new world, and even when I click on my dressing room. I literally can't do anything because of it. The game is unplayable now. I tried everything in the pinned comment. I unsigned out of my Microsoft account on my mobile. Deleted then reinstalled Minecraft on PS5. It didn't work. I even unlinked my Microsoft account from my PS5 and even that didn't work.

Mark Elling

Dev: We’ve isolated the root cause of this issue, as the PS4 handles downloading differently than other platforms, with a potential bug causing the download cache to get full with no way to clear it. A fix is in the works for that, hopefully coming soon, along with increased readability for the error popup letting users know what actions to take. Adding in auto-clearing if it’s detected to be catastrophically low like some of these comments indicate, and a button on the storage menu to clear it out manually. I’m also fighting for increased visibility in the storage menu itself, but since this is unique to PS4/5, it's an uphill battle.

Sadly the “Earthy Texture Pack” Is actually too large to be downloaded via normal means on the PS4 console, the download cache has a maximum capacity of 650MB, with Earthy Textures being larger than that, so no amount of deleting anything will be able to fix that. We’re still in discussions on what to actually do with that pack and any others that may be like it. I’m honestly surprised players are able to get it downloaded via joining an active server that already has it running. So maybe request a refund on that item if you’re planning on playing it exclusively on the PS4, as any fix for that will be much further down the line.

For those experiencing this issue, don’t bother deleting worlds, that will not solve anything as worlds are stored in a separate space as far as I could tell.

Sorry that this has taken so long to get fixed, and that I can’t offer a workaround.
