[MCPE-55641] Friend relogs in my world bc the portals aren't loading him in. He dies of fall damage the second he joins

After relloging in my world bc the portals werent working, my friend supposedly spawned really high in the air and dies of fall damage.

We go back to the portal wher he said he died, ( overworld side) and we found none of his stuff. He was on A pc, and I was on my xbox.

Any clues as to what happened?
